| concernedinky 3/10/2002 | . | I am the step mom of a child that has been taking redilin for approximately 7 years. Now he comes over with a pill he calls adderol. I do not have the bottle, the color is brownish, long capsule, 20 mg. Mother of child is worthless, so I would like to know what this medicine is and the side effects. |

In a basic sense, it is a combination of the central ingredient in Ritalin, along with the central ingredient in anotther common stimulant medication, Dexedrine. The side effects are similar to those of Ritalin. |
| dunit 3/11/2002 C2 | concernadinky | My daughter has been on adderol for 3 years. 2 years before that we tried ritalin & Concerta . THEY ARE ALL STIMULANTS, which actualy slow a hyperactive child down (it's kind of hard to understand) . We found the adderol worked best becasue it is slow released-- so the medicine starts wokring slower and leaves the body slower, it's easier on my daughter. I have never seen an Adderol pill that was not blue- infact the new gel caps are blue also. YOu could take the bottle or pill the your pharmacist and if you explain the situation I'm sure he would be glad to tell you whatkind of pill it is. |
| mauiwowie 3/13/2002 C3 | . | I have tried almost every form of Ritalin, Aderoll, Concerta, etc. and I've been on testing around with things like this for about 2 years now. The main side effects that I get from the ritalin are dry mouth, loss of appetite, uncontrollable crying, I get aggrivated very easily, and I get these sudden feelings over being over-whelmed (but they only last for about 5 seconds). With the aderoll I got loss of appetite, insomnia, and dry mouth. I recently heard that dexatrim (athough its mainly for weight loss) mixed ith aderoll or ritalin can increase your awareness and make you more able to desifer good and bad decisions, Is This True??? |

| bouncing 6/8/2002 C5 | . | I have found that adderol is very effective in helping my ADD. The side effects were less then desirable though. I felt an addictive feeling with Adderol. And I got more jittery then usual. Well, I would still recommend adderol. By the way, can it cause fainting? |

I took it for about 2 years. God knows about its long term side effects. For now it is helping me. Ijust graduated with B.S for college Newtonn |
