Subject: Re: Nervous twitches and other symptons I do not know of this could be a precursor to a more serious problem, but recently I began to experience a significant amount of twitching around my right eye. The severity of ot is such that when it happens I cannot see very well. By itself it does not seem that important, but the other symptons I am experiencing are: 1. Severe pain in the right lower side of my head, similar to, but a headache. 2. Extreme difficulty in performing any kind of exercise. I have been trying to get back into shape after many years of sedentary activity, but am having NO success, even after months of trying. 3. Shortness of breath after even minimal exercise. Please respond, to help ease my concerns. The two problems do not appear to be connected, the twitching around the eye SOUNDS LIKE myokymia which is caused by repetetive contraction of a group of muscle fibers in one area, the underlying cause is unknown but it is not associated with any serious underlying pathology. A number of solutions are available to help you with this including injections of botulinum into the muscles involved which is a relatively new and very successful treatment. Without further information I cannot comment on the headache, as we point out in the introduction we provide factual information , not diagnosis. As regards the shortness of breat and inability to exercise this is not a neurological issue and should not be dealt with via this forum, you need to have this diagnosed so I strongly suggest that you have a full physical examination by an internist as this is more likely to be related to your heart or lungs than to have a neurological cause. |
