You should take the Novolin 70/30 as directed by your doctor. If you are not sure, the best thing to do would be to call and check what times your doctor recommends. The following describes the action time of the insulin.
Novolin 70/30 is an intermediate-acting insulin. The effects of Novolin 70/30 start working ½ hour after injection. The greatest blood sugar lowering effect is between 2 and 12 hours after the injection. This blood sugar lowering may last up to 24 hours.
The same injection site should not be used 2 times in a row. Rotate your injection sites. Appropriate sites are into the fatty tissue on your abdomen, back of your upper arm, thigh, or buttock. If you are unsure how to inject the insulin, call your doctor's office and ask. They will either have you come in to learn or make arrangements for someone to teach you. Ask questions until you are comfortable.
I hope this helps.
