Ulcers/Canker sores

Would ulcers/canker sores be an effective passage of infection? If possible I'd prefer someone to give me an proper answer rather than 'oral sex poses no risk'. I have read that because ulcers/canker sores are effectively 'open', it is easy for things to pass through to the blood stream. Some sites say there could be microscopic cuts inside the actual ulcer. Any opinions?

Surely, if it's a break in the mucuous membrane (which I think an ulcer is), any HIV-infected fluid can be absorbed easily? If it can pass through small cuts or rips in the vagina/anus, why not the mouth?

How much fluid would need to enter the ulcer for HIV to be transmitted? I know you say there's no risk for oral sex, but I really can't see how canker sores/ulcers wouldn't be a risk. PLEASE SOMEBODY CLARIFY WHY THEY AREN'T A RISK! PLEASE!

Please, I need answers. If I can get a straight answer on this I can stop worrying! For good!

Okay. Finally I can stop this anxiety. Gonna stop researching this online now.

Gonna test after 2 months, hope it's negative!

It means the cut is not deep enough for HIV to penetrate, also your saliva is a good barrier. You won't be the first person in history to get HIV that way.

Hi Lizzie

Yeah, I'm sorry for double posting, I realise it's annoying. Just thought my old one might be overlooked now it had an answer.

Are you sure my questions don't apply to HIV transmission? I know Vance said it's a superficial cut, but what does this exactly mean?

go back and re-read what vance has told you.  there is no reason for you to double post this.
