I'm also a 3a... Nice base line VL! VL fluctuates very much. To be able to take a decision like shortening treatment due to low VL, I would take another VL on the morning of the 1st shot, before doing the shot. My VL before starting treatment went from 580.000 to 2.200.000 to 1.300.000 (on day of commencing tx). All this within a few months.
Good luck with your appointment. I wish you all the best!!!! Hugs, Marcia
Do the full 24 weeks, even if you're rvr at 4 weeks. SVR rates fall about 15% for who opt for the 16 weeks. In my opinion, it's just not worth the risk.
Are we talking 44000 iuml baseline vl here?
if so very good and if you dont have much damage and are RVR UND at 4 weeks you might even be able to do a shorter tx than 24 weeks tx, 16 weeks perhaps.
My baseline vl was 3.8 milj iuml.
I should have added that my last PCR was only 44o42...she said that was working on my side too...sooo we shall see..I just called my insurance to see if they cover the drugs and they said my doc has to fill out paper work and send them in and then they will go over it and approve if they do or not
Hi I´m also a geno 3.
It is better in away to be geno 3 but could also be bader in a another way and that is that most doctors knows more about treating geno 1 since its more common.
That is in my opinion an even bigger reason for you to try to find a skilled hepatologist to treat you, and you should never hesitate to get a second opinion if something seems daubtful.
What you shall advocate for is as many PCRs as possible, specially in the beginning of treatment 4 week pcr is minimum and the test to use should be as sensitive as possible.
Good luck with everything being a geno three is positiv, it uppers your chanses quite a bit if you get a prober good tx strategi.
