Severe Leg Cramping

by Laura Street, Feb 03, 2002 12:00AM
Greetings

My husband who as Hep C has been suffering greatly with

leg cramps that occur mostly in the evening at rest.

A great tightening sensation that bolts him out of bed

some nights

Sometime during day not so much tho

They have also begun to happen in his hands as well

Is this a common symptom with a liver condition or Hep C?

Also are there a deficiencys know that can cause this

to happen, perhaps something in his system is depleted

It is really difficult to watch him in such pain

and I sure would appreciate any advice help etc...

If someone has any experiences with leg cramps and what you

have done to relieve, them please E mail me/us.

Thank you kindly

Laura Street

I too have had this problem, It can get quite unbearable. I even got a 3 degree burn on leg from heating pad. Finally Dr. perscribed Vicodan 5/500mg. It works 75% of the time and the dose is not high enough to make you incompacitated. Also monitor his hemoglobin count, seems when its low and the oxygen in the blood is low the cramps are worse.  The Vicodan also will help with his breathing when he is having a hard time. How long has he been on treatment?
