Just curious--2nd premature membrane rupture occurence

Hi,

I hit the motherload of "well that usually doesn't happen for first pregnancies" with my first child. I was wondering what the chances are of these things happening again?

Premature water breaking (like a dam bursting) at 39.5 weeks (thank god I was full term)
Pitcoin needed to be administered after 6 hours of barely no contractions
20 hour labor (my poor son had meconium aspiration syndrome because of the water breaking and it being so long to deliver)

I would throw in busted tailbone but I give up on even asking this one. :) I'm going to assume it will. He was born face up to boot. Luckly my OB was a technical genius--no tearing or foreceps/vacuum needed!!

Any insight?

Thanks. I'm signed up for physical therapy for the tailbone so we'll see. Hate to have it 'fixed' only for it to pop out of wack again.

I too am very, VERY grateful that the little man is ok. He scared me 3 times already. Birth--we thought he was still born (it took them 30+ min to get him to a level of being ok). 6 weeks he acquired RSV and was in the hospital for a week. Then he got another bout of bronchiolitis at 3 mo. I HATE when he has respiratory issues. I can't sleep, eat, etc. I wound up sleeping on the hardwood floor with pillows because I wanted to be there with him for every second in case something bad happened.

Being a parent, while beautiful, can be the most stressful thing ever.

I can't answer for the 1st part, but I can answer about the broken tail bone.  My ds also broke my tail bone on his way out-horrifically painful for the next 8 months-anyway, I talked to some people at work and it happened to one lady here.  She had it with her first baby and the 2nd one there was no problem.  It was like the first baby paved the way for the 2nd-so I have a little hope that the whole tail bone issue won't happen again.  Good luck.

I have no insight but so happy, after all that drama, that you and the baby turned out to be healthy!!
