I took it went into labor like 6 hours later it came hard n fast I got really dehydrated my son was fine no meconium just a healthy 7lb boy but im not taking it this time I like labor to gradually build up not just hit like it did btw I was 40+3
I tried castor oil twice with my first...I took it in the morning the day before I had him and I didn't have any side effects but my son pooped when my water broke. Nicu nurses were on standby incase he inhaled it...it was stressful! I won't do it with this baby bc it wasn't worth it to me. If you do decide to take it just be careful!! :)
There are alot of mixed reviews about castor oil. You can have alot of negative side effects using it. I would let your body do the work. When babe is ready to.come out they will.
Your due date is just an estimate, baby will come when he/she is ready. Although I also am very anxious but I don't want to possibly cause complications
I used castor oil to jump start my labor and i had no side effects from it but it does taste really gross
My hubby is afraid of hurting the baby so sex isnt an option :(
I took 2 ounces with my son around 9pm at 39+6 and my water broke at 11:30am. Had no problems at all. My dr had told me about trying it
Try walking, sex, and raspberry tea. Sex jump started both my labors
Castrol oil will make you have diarrhea, it can help jump start labor because of the cramps but if not you're just stuck with a nasty crampy feeling with lots of diarrhea, I wouldn't do it to be honest.
Ive been bouncing on a yogo ball and eating spicy food and i move around alot. I just really dont wantt go over my due date. Thanks for the advice
my sister drank castor oil and it worked but her son shot into the birth canal too quickly and he ended up with the cord wrapped around his neck 3 times and she had an emergency c-section.. he came out purple and the blood vessels broke in his face from it for weeks afterwards. her doctor gave her a longggg lecture about it to say the least. and it can also cause meconium aspiration and that can be life threatening if not a nicu stay.. it's "debatable" if it does cause meconium aspiration, but it's a human laxative that passes to the baby.. that definitely would present a risk.. i would ask your doctor before taking it if you decide to, good luck hun and congratulations on your baby!!
I'm 39+2. It worked for my friend years ago she drank it and her water broke that night. I Don't have fb, I've wanted to ask her about it again. I was at the hospital with her back then and their wasn't the gross stories you hear on here for her. I've thought about it too. But waiting for my husbands union job to finish on Wednesday before I try to go into labor
