So my mom swears that I'm going to be late at least a week bc she was late with all three of her kids. Is that usually common to run in the family or is everyone their own person? My gut feeling is that I will be early...well im hoping. Im 39 weeks.

Well my mom had me and my sis 2 week s early and I had my son 2 weeks early. But our labor expierences were totally different. She barley made it inside the hospital with me and my sis was born in the car in the hospital parking lot. Lol. I was in labor for 12 hours and hadto have a csection cause my body wouldn't allow me to deliver natural.

Haha I know it's wishful thinking! I don't mind waiting if I'm late then I'm late. Would rather not be in the hospital or giving birth on thanksgiving though.

In my experience and people i know its common to follow your mother and other women in your family. With first pregnancies most people go all the way or late. For some reason everyone thinks they will go early, and some do but it is better to go all the way. My whole pregnancy i thought id go early and so did my doctor, but NOPE. Here i am disappointed and impatient with no baby and no sign of her coming yet, im not even dialated and due in 11 days.  My mom and sisters went to their due dates or maybe a day or two over so thats what i am guessing will happen to me :( im learning to be patient and im glad my baby and i are healthy enough to go full term because some babies have to be taken early and stay in the nicu for a while. I stopped trying to bring on labor because the little brat isnt ready, and so be it ill just suffer a little longer lol good luck your almost there anyway!
