Thanks for the post.
I would have thought that my other liver tests such as ALT / AST would be out of the ordinary if there were any liver damage?? I also had an MRI which showed only a benign cist on a kidney but the liver displayed as normal.
Since this started occuring (4months ago), I have only had a few beers on a few occasions. My doctor did't seem to think alcohol was at the root of the cause...but obviously I'm not sure.
Seems to be a medical mystery.
I would go to a dermatologist to see if it is a fungal infection - there are topical anti-fungal meds out there to use in the meantime.
I have the exact same effects as you, except I
I cannot make a connection between the muscle twitches and the diarrhea.
Regarding the diarrhea - with the negative stool tests, that would make some sort of infection less likely.
I would consider a colonoscopy at this time, to evaluate for colitis or inflammatory bowel disease.
A negative abdominal MRI would make any masses less likely as well.
You can test the stool for malabsorption syndromes, as well as obtain blood tests looking for celiac disease.
If the tests continue to be negative, you can consider optimizing treatment for irritable bowel syndrome.
The muscle twitching can be evaluated via a neurology consult.
These options can be discussed with your personal physician.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
