My Brother has a lazy eye and is going blind

One of my Brothers (3yrs) had a genetic lazy eye from his dad and basically he is going blind in that eye, and the other eye is going too from focusing too much, the hospital gave him patches for now but he doesnt like wearing them he hates things on his face so we stuck them too his galsses and he only wears them at Playgroup (3 to 4 hours of wearing was recommended a day) which is what happens at school which is good.

He has till he is 7 before he goes fully blind, will they hopsital offer him an operation to correct this?

Also, my other brother (I have 7 in total) was born half blind, Completely in one eye, because his mum too oads of stuff during pregnancy, they think it is cancerous but no one knows and they said there is nothing no one can do, Will he go fully blind eventually?

ALSO!!

My little sister has developed a Caterax (I cant spell) from impact basically she was hit in the head very hard with something, can they be cured?

Thank you everyone :) xxxx

Okay thank you :)

It was confirmed he is going blind in one eye, and the other eye is soon to follow, we will find out what will happen at the next appt, after the patch has been introduced for 2 months, he has started wearing it but only over his glasses, and he seems to wear it better like this.

Thanks for your help

Okay thank you.
I only went by what the hospital appointment said that he has gone half blind in one eye or near enough with his patch over his good eye, he can hardly see.
This also happend with his dad and he had an operation.

Thanks for your help.

An eye will not go completely blind from amblyopia. The peripheral vision will be normal but the central or reading vision could be very bad (could be legally blind 20/200 or less but thats no wear like total blindness).

It doesn't make any difference how much he dislikes wearing the patch he needs to wear it as directed or the amblyopia will not improve.

Surgery does not correct this problem. They could also try atropine drops in the good eye (called penalization).

I have no way to comment on the other brother and your sister.
