Food Allergy Testing

Allergy tests can determine to which specific food you're allergic. A skin test involves placing a small sample of an allergen directly on or into the skin. If there is a reaction, the skin in that area will itch or swell, usually within 20 minutes. Blood tests can also be used to measure allergic antibodies in the blood. Test results, analyzed with your medical history, will diagnose any allergies.
