These procedures are used to diagnose cervical cancer:
Colposcopy: Your doctor examines your cervix with a special microscope (colposcope). If your doctor finds a suspicious area during the colposcopy, a small piece of cervical tissue is removed and sent to a lab to be studied.
Conization: Using a special knife or laser, a doctor will remove a cone-shaped piece of tissue from the cervix for analysis in a lab.
Endocervical curettage: A sample of cells is taken from your cervical opening. The sample is then analyzed in a lab.
