Chemotherapy and radiation are often used to treat cervical cancer in more advanced stages. If you undergo chemotherapy, you will need to take strong drugs, either orally or intravenously, to kill the cancer cells. Radiation uses high-powered energy to kill cancer cells. These treatments may be used alone or in combination with each other to treat your cancer.
