Do you eat on the run? Slow down and savor your meal instead. You’ll enjoy your food more — and eat less of it. One study found that women who ate their meal slowly and paused between bites consumed fewer calories and felt fuller than when they were told to eat quickly.

Why the difference? As you eat, your stomach releases hormones that promote satiety and send signals to your brain to let you know that you’re full. But these cues take a while to register, so if you’re a quick eater, you can easily surpass your caloric needs before your brain tells you to stop.
