While you may be trying to lose fat from other areas of your body, your face is one area where a little extra padding actually helps your appearance by making skin cells stronger, filling in wrinkles and preventing that gaunt look. Eating a diet with the right amount of healthy mono- and poly-unsaturated fats will help you achieve that youthful look. Monounsaturated fats, like those found in olive oil, avocados and nuts, also keep skin moist and reduce inflammation. About 65 grams (g) of your daily calorie intake should come from fat, and about 1/3 of that 65 g (roughly 22 g) should be monounsaturated fats.
