Massive water retention from too much salt and not drinking enough water yesterday. I'm out of town for a few days and using a different scale, but I've used it before and it's pretty close to mine. I think my HCG mixture has lost potency, it's over 15 days old. I pre-loaded some syringes to bring with for when my TOM is over, but when I get home I'm going to mix another batch. This is about how far into the VLCD last round that it got really difficult and my face started to look sunken in. I ended up doing a 28 day round instead of the planned 40 injections. I made sure before starting this round that I had enough HCG to keep it fresh. I'll see if it makes a difference in how I tolerate the VLCD. I may just have to do shorter rounds than I planned if it truly doesn't stay potent for more than 15 days. I only have enough to mix 5 more batches and still have 50 lbs to loose.
Being peri-menopausal is complicating the process for me. I never know when I'm going to have a period, and when I do they can be unusually painful and heavy. I never had to stop injections last round, but I'm glad I did this time. I was feeling extremely weak and my eyes were looking sunken in. So the increase in calories 72 hours after last injection was needed. I have not experienced the ease of staying on the VLCD during menses that Dr. Simeons writes about in his manuscript. Maybe because I'm a hormonal wreck to begin with. But I'm going to get "back on the horse" as soon as possible, treating this as a planned break since it worked out as if it had been.
