Just a quick note to say hi!
Hello! Are you on klonapin? I have been prescribed that for a few yrs in low doses as a sleep aid to use once in a while, but never ever knew it was an anticonvulsant and in higher doses might be effective at pain releif! I stopped taking neurontin about 5 days ago due to vertigo. Since stopping neurontin I have had no vertigo. So no more neurontin.
Have you tried neurontin and  tegretol also and if so what was your experience? Hopefully klonapin is effective for pain at higher doses with less side effects. But if i take more than one klonapin at night, It is VERY hard to get up the next morning!
just curious what your opinion on is klonapin it. Seeing primary care provider today. Will ask. So excited it might work some.

Oh! I forgot to mention, and it may help others with root canal overfills, chemical reactions, whatever, that a micronuerosurgeon could offer what is called a neuro brain stimulator that is implanted in the brain to alter pain impulses. I imagine to stop pain impulses. However, that is not an option for me right now because I am a self pay. But, with all the side effects of ani convulsants, I may consider. Or for those with insurance it is a more realistic option. This doc said it would be very expensive and no guarantee of results. Probably lack of subjects to study too I imagine, but thought the option was interesting and in existance. Since there is not much I am finding for myself, maybe someone else can benefit.

Do you know anything about blocks? Like nerve blocks for pain in the trigeminal area.
Thanks!

Just a quick note to say hi!
will try new contact, thanks!
Not on disability. Still trying to work. Can't afford to quit. Although I have no health insurance and am paying cash, beleive it or not! Yes, it *****, real bad.  I just recently discussed with my boss decreasing my hours due to health reasons. For example, I am exausted, either from meds, or being underweight. I miss alot of work for being sick & med appointments. My boss is so nice. I work in a small office for an older gentleman in a small town. But I wonder sometimes how I still have a job, anyone else would have not put up with me....really.  When he retires (he's 76 now) I wonder who else will hire me with all the meds I'm on! I have thought about that. I get dizzy, am tired, and  have been making mistakes, etc..sigh :(

Just a quick note to say hi!'
thank  you so much for replying! I posted a comment on oralnervinjury.com about my issue, and I got two replies about lawsuits, and that was it!
No one else there replied after I asked if anyone had nerve damage from gutta percha and root canal overfill and what their outcome was, because docs and dentists are baffled and haven't seen it.
I have been turned down by one prominant neurologist, who said "he didn't think  he could help me" but I wonder if they fear lawsuits and don't want to touch me. Having a hard time finding a neuro. Appt with University of WA, in Seattle soon at the pain clinic, they will probably hook me up with a neuro.
Thanks again.
Is your pain constant too?

Just a quick note to say hi!
My chart says, ZC and OC, I think, So hopefully it was just gutta percha in my nerve, and whatever else was put in there.  He tried to "widen my canals" several times to try to get non existant infection out, but didn't work because there was never an infection that bad. Nerve was injured by overinstrumentation, gutta percha, root canal overfill, and foreign object (terms my many doctors have thrown around in my  charts). Initially I had horrendous pain and numness together in my front chin,  teeth, gums, and lip on left side only. Today, I just have partial numbness in my lip, and a dull ache in my chin, inner cheek. It hurts to eat, and I have random stabbing pains where injury was. Meds help stabbing pains, but that's it. Vertigo bad today from neurontin

Hello!
An oral surgeon did my corrections, that dentist who did my root canal was gone, don't want him around me! I have all new dr's now... The Oral surgeon who did my correction normally deals with traumatic injuries such as car crashes in hospital operating rooms, and is best suited to repair my nerve (microneurosurgery), remove the overfill, and do bone grafting, on this side of the state. There was one other dr in Seatttle that he recommended, but I wanted the gutta percha out soon! He said I could wait and see for improvement, up to 3 mo, then get it out. But sooner was much better than later. If I would have had corrective surgery withing a day or two, it would have been much more success in healing.

Just a quick note to say hi!

Sorry about your pain.I have a "traumatic injury to my inferior alveolar nerve" after a root canal of #18 (very back, lower) Oct 20, 2009. I have had two surgeries to correct and remove gutta percha from my nerve and sew my nerve up. I  have tried tegretol and am now just recently on neurontin. I cannot find a Doctor who has seen this, only read about it. I live in WA state.
I am not familiar at all with this site, but would join. Do you know of any other site's for people with oral nerve injuries? I know there is oral nerve injury.com but it is geared more towards injectional injuries only.
