Hey honey how nice to see your name it's been TOO long. I am so sorry to hear about your dad. It just ***** but we will all pray for him and keep him in our good thoughts and send our best wishes and thoughts to your entire family. You know we are liver disease haters around here...........it's a great group to have on your side and you know we are.
Please stay in touch and keep us updated. And take care of yourself my friend! Deb
Just a quick note to say hi! Hi Dana good to see you!!! I hope you're continuing to do,well
Lots of hugs
You deserve a big bear hug! Been traveling lately (as usual!) and just saw your note. Sorry to hear about the split. I hope things work our for you in Gulfport. You're living on the beach, for heaven's sake. How bad can that be? :-) I wish I could come down and cheer your up (and spend some time on the beach), but duty calls here and all that. I am keeping busy, staying reasonably healthy, and waiting for a new cure or a sharp advance in fibrossis, whichever comes first (the former, I hope). - Hugs!
Yeah, 85 is a pretty good old age. My dad died at 76 from CLL (type of leukemia that strikes people 60+). That chemo is rough on a healthy person, I can only imagine how hard it must be on someone 85 battling cancer. Hope it goes well!
Sorry about the death of your husband's father. I hope the funeral is a nice event.
Hi right back at ya!! You're looking good and healthy. I hope it is so. I haven't been around the forum at all for a while. Too busy tring to get life and work together. Busy, but staying healthy. I can't believe it has been 5 years! Wow! Best wishes to you.
Five years can you imagine that? I keep trying to leave here then meet a new person and like them -or another oldie comes on to retreat and I can't leave. I didn't mean our age old!
Pm me your add - it won't put it on the public forum but probably will there...jet cretive one word a time!
You areSvr get it your head! I'm very curious about the insurance that ould give so any real hope. I only have a bit though my job (really can't afford more) but if I lose that I gave zero, I our love to get a real policy, jut in case.
Wow so great o talk with you again!
Sorry bout the typing, I'm using the iPad and just can't text like a kid!
My friend! Yes SVR you can say it and not worry, it won't go away and you don't need to be tested anymore for it!!!!
I was so happy to see your name come up. And now to see that -you just made my day I need to buy a lotto ticket, yay!
I'm still around if you ever want to chat, just PM me and we can talk without the world watching :)
Love you, so great to hear from you!
My husband is a "Mike" too. I know you can do it. I've done it over and over and over again. Been hypnotized, smoke-ended, patched, and pilled. Chantix was the easiest quit for me except for the dreams. My biggest temptation and failure is visiting my in-laws. They all smoke and the temptation is too much for me. I always fail. Luckily I only see them once a year and then I quit again. So I smoke for around one week a year. Silly me, I really look forward to that week of smoking. My husband just shakes his head and goes with it because he knows I'll quit as soon as we leave.
I quit smoking on Chantix. Got the weird dreams too, but just barreled my way through them. Sometimes I fall off the smoke wagon and then just take a couple days of Chantix and back on the wagon. I tried Hoda (sp?) for losing weight but it was giving me pain in my intestines. Reminded me of the pain when my diverticulitis was acting up, so I stopped. It seems that after 50 all my disposable parts started falling off (or getting cut out). Lost my gall bladder and appendix. Soon to lose my thyroid I fear. Any day now I'll be walking down the street and fingers and toes will start detaching themselves from my body...hehehe.
Just a quick note to say hi! Good for you! I went for my one year post tx and I'm clear too! Doing a little victory dance for us both! By the way, how are your other health problems doing? My thyroid went hyper after tx so I'm on pills to slow that down. I'll probably have to have it radiated and go on synthroid eventually. Hope you are better...Kathy
I am so sorry that all that has hit you at one time as I will keep you in my prayers. I go to support groups even though I am not on tx but there others at the group that really need some help getting through there rough times as we are a shoulder that they can talk to and tell them what we went through. Do you think that this is all due to the interferon as you know that the drug companies would say no...but I beg to differ as there are things that have happen to me and I know that the interferon is to blame but pegasys says that is NOT a sx.. well not everyone is the same. You take care and I'll check back with you. God Blessings,
Did you ever come to the bottom of your problem? I have come down with shingles and this has been very depressing and I take one step forward and 5 backwards. Drug company don't want to take responsibility for some of my other problems. That's O.K. God knows what they are to be accountable for. I just had my 3 mos. test and shows still UND and if it stays I am home free. God Bless, Pam
Congratulations! Dana....! sorry I'm so late, I forget about these notes at times
Hugs sent you way
I was thinking of you and wanting to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. I remember the day after is your anniversary and wanted to congratulate you on another momentous anniversary!
Thank you for the kind thoughts. How are you doing these days?
I know how you feel when I got regular bloodwork to check cholesterol last time the doc was well we might as well throw in a PCR and I was like why why why I STILL got nervous and in Feb it will be 3 years post (wow where DOES time go?) So I guess we probably should get one every year not that it will matter but.....peace of mind (Even though at first we are still scared when we have to do it!) Face it, it's always nice to see a big fat negative after all that we have gone through to get there!!! boy we are all a mess! Diabetes for you thyroid and cholesterol for me - LOLmaybe it's just cause we aren't 20 anymore...that's what I think it gets harder to fake it :) I am SO glad for you my friend - what along road but what GREAT success, I wish everyone could get it!!!!
PS Nobody was EVER negative towards Kathy - she keeps bringing up that she is overweight, we keep saying that having a high BMI is a negative predictor...but she keeps insisting that that is just being mean to her. You know us.....we can be catty but not about something like that. I don't want you to think we've all changed that much in the last two yearsl. We just tell the truth and if someone doesn't want to listen to it oh well - all the weight I lost on treatment and how much UP was I after a year post? Please we all get how hard it is!
Hey baby congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is SO SO GREAT!!!!!! You are done FOREVER with that disease now, FOREVER! Unless we catch it again somehow it's over for good we beat it into the ground! :) Oh I am so happy for you - what a long, long road it really is but it's all over now and you WON! What a great way to start the work week - now I have a huge smile on my face instead of the Monday grumps that I had a few minutes ago!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY xoxoxox you did it!
Congratulations! Time for a celebration...
I hope you don't mind if I ask you a question. I just finished SOC and am UND so far one month post. I saw you mentioned that you had lost weight on tx. Can you tell me if you lost a lot and if you were overweight before treating? I'm not trying to pry, but I was over 260 when I started and am now around 205. I'm very pleased to have lost that weight, but I get alot of negativity on the forum about being overweight. Just wondering if there are other people out there that treated and were overweight and became SVR? Either way, I'm very happy for your outcome and CONGRATULATIONS!
Doc said to hang on and wait. Probably TX next summer with new PI drugs the way things look. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Brent
Dana: I've gained a little weight since finishing TX also. I am going to have to watch it or I really will be the Walrus. :-) I'll let you know what the doc says. Thanks for everything - Brent
Thanks for stopping by. I wish I had better news to offer. I am not sure what the plan is for now. I meet with the doctor next week to discuss this. I imagine I will be trying to get into a trial with one of the newer drugs. We'll see. Thanks for everything. Hugs to you as well. Hope you are doing fine. Are you?
Just a quick note to say hi! I've been off work for 11 weeks, due to neck surgery, I've put on weight since I finished tx two years ago. Probably about 12 lbs. It's irritating, but I'd hate to go through tx to get it off again!:)
Nice to hear you're doing well!
Thank you for Dana, I'm doing OK...hope you're well !!
LOL Let me get this straight, LOL you're sending your dog to boot camp? LOL
I have a little dog, Lhasa Apso, she is older now, but she is the best dog I've ever had
except for my German Shepherd, she was one of a kind as well. I had problems walking the
shepherd though:( she walked me !! I didn't feel I could argue with her though, she
was almost 140 pounds.LOL
HAD TO LET YOU KNOW THAT IM SVR
YES GIRL ...MY 6MTH TEST WAS UND
Just a quick note to say hi! Hope all is well with you.
UND at 25 weeks. Remained so through the remainder of TX (84 weeks total). Get my 4 week post TX OCR next week. Best wishes to you always - Brent
Good to hear! I guess we're all trying to hold on to jobs in this market. I hope the Jeep is fun on vacation. Best wishes - Brent. P.S. I'm done with tx and waiting for SVR.
Don't know if you are still checking in here anymore. If you are, just wanted to say "hey" and wish you the best!
Happy Holidays! hope your doing well!!!
