No, you cannot forget about it and stop worrying, but its good to try to lessen the stress anyway you can. Stress seems to cause more inflammation and makes the symptoms worse. At least it did for me.
I finally had to take some drugs (which I always avoided like the plague) to help my mind shut down a bit. I would not sleep as my mind invented awful scenarios that would scare the pants off me. Once I got my mind calmed down looked at the issues with a better perspective. Everyone is different so what worked for me might not be the answer for you but whatever you can do to quiet the worrying mind would be helpful. The waiting is the worst part for sure. Once you get a diagnosis, you can do something about it. :)
