You're in my thoughts....wondering how you are doing. <3
Just a quick note to say hi! I dropped by after reading tonight you support for a person worried about getting an agiogram - you said you had 15, this made me stop by to see your profile. Well Flycaster caught my interest too but I think we touched bases on that issue a year or two back. I took Lipator for years than shifted to Simvastatin generic for a lot less $$$ and the same apparent results. My cholesterol numbers are so good some are out-of-range on the "good scale". I have no known side effects from these drugs.
Hey there! I went to your profile page after getting your response to my question about ejection fraction issues. I was interested to hear your comments about statins. I'm 50, and have been diagnosed with "high-ish" cholesterol -- my LDL ranges between 115 to 140, and my HDL is very high (from from 75 to 82, depending on the year). I have low triglicerides (always in the 50s) and also a very low CRP (0.12). I've been pondering going on statins for the past 5 years (I even tried Lipitor for a week or so but had some side effects) but have avoided doing so so far. No heart issues with my parents. My cardiac calcium score in 2010 was 28. I'd love to get your opinion on this, as your argument for going on statins was compelling, to say the least!
Just a quick note to say hi! Thank you very much for your advice
Hi Bruce. I wonder if you know what became of Sue's Heartfailurechat discussion board? I have been unable to log on since early February and fear the worse has happened to Sue. Have you kept in communication with anyone from that Forum and know what's happening? TIA.
BTW, I'm currently recovering from a total hip replacement performed in early March.
Hey! I'm still kickin' but MVD is progressing.PBS.org tracked me down to do a show on angina, one of those mystery patients where they know I have angina but don't know about me or why I get it.See me and hubby at: http://www.secondopinion.tv.org/episode/angina-0#FullEpisode
Happy Thanksgiving! "selma"
You are in my thoughts and prayers. My deepest sympathies on the loss of your friend.
Just a quick note to say hi!. I had a stent about a year ago. I guess smoking is bad? My doctors tell me that and are proud of me that I don't smoke. Hope it doesn't make things bad not smoking because friends with my same problem still smoke and drink a little and seem to be doing better then me?? We go to Oregon lots , what town are you in. I am 61 by the way. Wife and I are looking for good fishing holes:) Thanks. Bob
Just a quick note to say hi! Hope you don't have to many side effects from the Chemo!

Just a quick note to say hi! I can only imagine how much it must hurt to be in a car rec, 4 months post OHS! ouch. Look after yourself. Hugs
Hey, just read your mood, what happened?
Just a quick note to say hi! Flycaster, I saw your post to Suzzie today/yesterday and was caught by your handle and Oregon. I assume you are a trout fly fisherman. A good friend of my left NJ about 6 year ago to get back to good trout fishing. He now lives in OR, but is still working and doesn't find a lot of time to fish. I usually use artificial bait on a spinning rod. Good fishing and heart health.
Just a quick note to say hi!...it sounds wonderful and I look forward to being as blessed as ur dear wife : )
I am sure she is as thankful as u r......if not more so.
Praying u have many more wonderful moments to celebrate.
Just a quick note to say hi! Aww fantastic...I am so happy for u...enjoy...luckily u r nowhere, where this hurricane will affect the festivities : )
Congratulations! Time for a celebration...Happy 50th Anniversary : )
WOW...hope u have a great day !
That's wonderful news, dear friend! As you may remember, I lost most of my vision in the right eye December '09. I had a blocked artery to the retina. They had told me then that was of concern because of the proximity to the brain. The blockage is getting worse and starting to give me headaches. I had 2 episodes of numbness on the left side recently. Once in the leg, the other in the torso and arm. It was quite alarming. Only lasted a minute or so, but needs to be investigated. Take care, Ally
Bruce, hope all went well and your recovery is going smoothly. I still expect you to show me how it's done on the Columbia, so get better!
Hope you feel better soon! Soon glad to hear u r home and doing well....seems we all tend to have some sort of set backs...I pray what u experienced is the limits to what u will have to deal with.
Rest up : )
My thoughts and prayers will go with you dear friend. Please keep us all posted. You will be missed when we don't hear from you. Father, in Jesus' name, I ask that Your healing hand be the doctor's in this surgery and that Your healing hands cover my friend and take the pain away. Your hands are mighty, Lord. Take care, Ally.
Just a quick note to say hi!..no worries Bruce, just wanted u to know, u had a friend pulling for u : )
You are in my thoughts and prayers.Sending good vibes~~ and prayers to u and all in charge of ur care for ur bypass on the 16th.
Hello again. Can lansaparazole cause slow digestion and feeling something stuck in stomach, was told by pharmacist to take MOTILIUM 10 to help push it forward. Thanks
Just a quick note to say hi! thanks for the info and input re. the lower HDL. I'll be seeing my cardiologist on 4/19 and intend to address this with hi also.
Hey, I'll probably forget tomorrow, so I wanted to say good luck tonight. I hope everything goes as you hope on Friday, make sure to let me know.
And you're still standing on two! I thought of you a couple of weeks ago as I came up with a near brillant description of MVD for a lady who had trouble with understanding the anatomy part.I explained the heart micros as looking at a balled mass of twisted clear fishing line. Now figure where it starts, what it connects to,where it goes and where its terminal ends are.Now think of this clear line with a microscopic center which has a blood flow supplying oxygen to every part of the heart muscle.I thought that it described it well, however I have not heard back from her.smile.
WOW!50lbs.Our close friend thought he had a heart attack and was dx'd with Barrett's.Has GI appt next week re:diet and 'burn'of cells.A wake up call for him as his belly is the biggest part of him; eats lots of food and the hotter the better:he's in for a huge change. No angina....sigh.I just told my Emory referred MVD pt. today that we CAN'T gain eight. If we carry over 1/2 gal milk it's a disaster. All my life avoiding my brother's CAD and I get this MVD!I'm watching 6 good size bass lounging in the sunny spot on the lake.Fish Fry! Did you know that Columbia SC had world class fly fishing on the Saluda River?Good for the economy with all the 'fly ins'.Behave.
Bruce, how are you doing? I'm still standing on two! I feel quite better these past 2 days so I'm playing catch up. I hope you are OK and much better recovered without any major problems........we'd be too lucky to have everything go too smoothly. Joan
Glad to hear you're home, sorry to hear of the issues. It must have been a little scary going into surgery while worrying about it's impact on your heart.
We'll talk more later, just rest now, have the wife get you a good old fashioned ice cream shake and relax. Know that we're thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery.
