Quadriceps (ant thigh) is a less common area to be referred from the spine - and if so more likely in the upper lumbar spine. Another more common condition is meralgia paresthetica - compression of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve - these symptoms would be more likely down the outside of the anterior thigh.
