Hi Pat, just wanted to let you know I posted a reply to your post on MedHelp about the PCO and YAG issues.  Sorry it took me a few days; I was traveling on business and just got back, but wanted to write immediately.  I'm really sorry you are dealing with this now; even tho it's common it must still feel like 'what next!' for you.  Sheesh.

I really hope you get immediate and safe vision improvement from the YAG process.  The odds are certainly with you.  An experienced cataract surgeon who has done lots of YAG procedures will be your best choice.  You may also have increased floaters as a result of the YAG, but that would seem like a better option than cloudy, glare-y vision.  good luck to you!  :-)

Just a quick note to say hi!
Hi Pat,
Do I think I made the right choice?  Yes, but since my cornea has flared up again, it will not know the full results for a while. I still see some flare, but I think that is cornea irritation.   I felt total relief when I knew the multi focal was out.  Hard to explain, but it was exhausting to deal with.  I slept the 2 first afternoons, and I am never a day sleeper.  I had a very busy week before my surgery too.  I think you were correct not to "try" them.  Just the anticipation of ex plant was very stressful.  I would never recommend any of those lenses, my current surgeon told me only people with perfect eyes except for cataracts should get multi locals.   How are you doing now?  Are you happy with your results?

Just a quick note to say hi!
I had the multi focal lens removed Monday May 19th, I again have corneal swelling and irritation, so my vision in that eye is not clear at this point.  I was hoping it would be this time,  the Dr. believes it will be when my corneal clears and heals.  It was a long procedure compared to the original cataract surgery and because of the removal I am told it will take more healing.  I am glad I had it removed, and I finally seem to be moving in the right direction.  I wanted to be sure I was making the right choice this time,  my previous surgeon and 4 surgeons all agreed it would be best to remove it.  They did not all agree on the reason it was not working for me.

I hope you are OK,  I read you had post surgery issues, I hope all is good now.

Thank you for everything!  I will keep that in mind, my Dr. in town is very good, but not an MD. so she did not do the surgery.  I have talked to others who had the same surgeon and say they had problems also. But too late for me to now.
I have a friend who also had the Dr. I will be seeing, and she was very pleased what he did for her.  I am feeling very hopeful to be getting some answers. And so happy that yours turned out well, that is so good to here, I did pray for you as well, thank you for the prayers too.

Just a quick note to say hi! I am seeing my new Dr. next week.   I will be going to Appleton instead of Milwaukee.  I have been watching your progress, and so happy it is working well for you.
