I have family in Austin- have heard it's gorgeous (we're near Chicago).
Next time I'm there, my husband, Ivan, and I would love to buy dinner, tea- somthing and say hi in person.
Praying for your well-being and as painless and rapid a recovery as is possible.
Just a quick note to say hi! I'm not really sure what is going on with tybear. I just saw that she posted on Facebook the other day and seemed really down. She is just not doing very well right now. She definitely needs to be in our prayers!! Thanks for the friend invitation. It is always nice to have more friends :-)
Sorry...hit post by accident. I'm currently in another trial at MDA Torisel/Avastin and go down every week. Pain in the butt but so far so good. What is your DIL doing? Saw she will be finished with treatment in a few weeks? Sent me a PM to let me know.
Just a quick note to say hi!
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thanks for the journal note. Sometimes I wonder if I am the sane one. The SIL's Mom thinks we should do all we can to protect HIM, not hurt his feelings. She was so excited when our daughter married him, thought she could fix him. That upsets me too. We'll hear more after her dr. visit today. Thank you again, irene
So glad you have your daughter in law home. She is probably thrilled to be home and I hope that she will be recovering soon. Please let us know how she is doing. I haven't checked for a post but will do that soon!
Hi there. What an incredibly stressful time it is for you. Do take care of you too. I've had ulcerative colitis and IBS and both can act up when we are stressed. I do hope you have something to help you with the anxiety. You may also want to look into taking some Immodium so that you have one less thing to worry about. I will keep you all in my prayers.
Just a quick note to say hi! Hope all is well, I haven't heard anything new and I'm thinking of all of you. Take care, Angie
You deserve a big bear hug! Thinking of you and your family, your story has touched me. If I can be any support at all, let me know.
We have had a very mild summer so the garden is doing good and it should not be too hot to can. We have also had a lot of rain, which I know that you are lacking of there in Texas. I hope that it will soon cool down for you.
Well, so far, so good. When will she see the liver specialist. I agree ... get that stuff out the sooner the better and move forward.
Keeping you in my prayers. Judy
Hi - I noticed you would like a buddy on the OvCa board. I'm probably not the choice for you since I live in Oregon. But I wanted to say Hi. My son went to college in Austin, we went to visit and love the place. He's now in San Antonio. We know a great family in Austin - the Lavenders. Anyway, thinking of you. irene
Good luck! Send my love and prayers to Ella.Tell her its from Beachwalker.I'm praying with all my heart and soul.Mayo Clinic is a great place.
Just a quick note to say hi! I will be keeping you all in my prayers for positive ideas from Mayo. Judy
Hoping Mayo Clinic finds the right treatment. Marie
I had pretty good luck with avastin but only when it was combined with another drug. You might ask him if he plans on using avastin alone or in combination with something else. It is my understanding that it does seem to work better that way.
Just a quick note to say hi! I ache for you, I really do. "Bump" is meant to push the thread back up to the top. You'll note under Discussions that there are two ways to set things up -- last post (most people apparently use that) or date started (which makes threads fall lower and lower even when people answer for several days). If you "bump", people who are set up by "last post" are reminded to add to that post. I hope I explained that clearly enough; I found it very confusing at first, too.
Just a quick note to say hi! What the latest on your DIL .. sounds like you got something more positive?
Thought I should introduce myself and welcome you to the forum. This is a group of great strong ladies. I also live in Austin and go to Dr "T". I do think he is The Man here in Austin. I'll be praying for your DIL and family!
Thank you for the kind words of encouragement. I go in for the surgery in just a matter of hours. Let's hope the doc gets plenty of good sleep tonight! I need him at his best in the morning! Marie
The shock is horrible. I am so sorry you and your family are facing this. You aren't alone. Those first months I felt like it was a horrible nightmare and I wanted to just wake up to my life before this horrible, horrible joke. I still have bad days. I've also witnessed amazing courage and amazing relief of symptoms and medical treatments, maybe not miracles, but if you saw me 6 months ago compared to today...it is a drastic improvement.
Lots of love,
You are in my thoughts and prayers....i hope your not crying as much... my heart goies out to your and your family... try and be strong for her and your son... god is good and will work soemthing out for you.....god bless....Kristyn
Hope you feel better soon! I just read a bit about your DIL and your situation...she is so lucky to have you...my MIL was like you an angel to me...always so wonderful...better than my own mother...I was so lucky to have her....and she is lucky to have you. But you will be of more service to everyone if you can take care of yourself...I wrote a little post on caretakers. Take a look at it ....and take care of yourself...in the long run everyone will benefit....lots of love...
