ricart70I like it. I saw an adjusted version of this that Samuel Jackson said in a movie. "If you keep doin what You've always done you'll keep bein what you've always been" ;))
OpenMind24hoursAnother one I heard at a meeting a while back that really fits in this category: "what's down in your well comes up in your bucket". (I'm old enough to remember wells and buckets lol)

OpenMind24hoursI once heard "what's down in our wells comes back up in our buckets". The 12-steps suggest we dig completely new wells in order to survive.
clean_in_ksSo good! Reminds me of Psalm 51:10 "Creat in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me." (I have a magnet with this on it on my stove hood...hahaha) Thanks for sharing, Robert!

clean_in_ksSo true...the line that jumped off the page at me when I read this very same ODAT message today was:
"People only accept and use the advice they're ready for."
OpenMind24hoursYou're absolutely right Weaver. We were talking about praying for sobriety every morning at last night's meeting. Some do, some don't. It all boiled down to packing our own parachutes when working the program. We hear what's worked and what hasn't...
OpenMind24hoursConnie, I liked that line also. In the beginning it took me 8 months to even fathom forming a partnership with someone like a sponsor. It took the rest of my life to follow his direction. And my sponsor's direction was coming from HIS sponsor! Onward...
