"I don't think she should have said that either. Therapists are not there to tell you what to do - give you some options, but not just suggest that you quit before you start. If anything, she should have asked to explore those feelings ..."

Don't really know what to say. I have lived in MT my entire life. Came to Bozeman to go to college in Engineering and did great until the depression hit, and I had to drop out. Officially diagnosed with Depression at 19, and Bipolar at 27.

Started drinking at 20 and never really stopped. Went to treatment for mania and alcohol abuse in 2004, to get me back on my meds. Never really stopped drinking though. I never wanted to admit to anyone that I had anxiety too (tough, tomboy girl), and the drinking gave me a social life. Finally the doc got me on gabapentin for the anxiety, and the social anxiety is basically gone (a miracle). Haven't really gone to the bars for over a year, but haven't found a new social life yet. Hate to get in a relationship and then flip out because my meds quit working. Am trying to get rid of the alcohol, but don't seem to be ready for it yet. In fact, seem to have taken up more smoking instead (between a rock and a hard place, eh).
Anyway I am currently working part-time as a bookkeeper, and I have a dog and a cat. [Less]

Felt a lot better at work. Wasn't moving as fast as normal, but slow & steady got the job done. Nothing stressful
