I am 50 years and a recovering alcoholic and heroin addict. I have been on Methadone for 10yrs which has saved my life, although I really would like to get off of it, but I'm afraid. I can't get high on dope after 85 mgs. and I'm at 160 and I have no cravings anymore, b
[More]ut being tied to the clinic does restrict my life. My daughter died on May 3, 2004 from a combination of type 1 diabetes and chronic substance abuse. Somehow I got through it and have put more effort into my since. I guess I don't want to dissapointed in me, falling apart. I am a sophomore at Axia on-line student through the University of Phoenix and I am working towards my associates degree in social work. I was actually searching for something for school when I came upon the site. I don't belong to AA or NA. I have seen a lot of clique attitudes and it turns me off. I would like to feel like they do, but I've been trying off and on since I was 20 and it doesn't work for me. I guess I'm just not that much of a joiner. This is the first time I ever joined something like this. I was searching for something for school and I came upon this site and I was drawn to it. I look forward to talking to everybody.
