just read your blog...
I have the same MRI report as you it sounds. I also have an appt with Dr Barth Green on Nov 2. I have been to many surgeons and they all say do the surgery, I also read the failed surgery stories. I read that the long term is the same with or with out surgery. I also have been super duper athletic my whole life(I'm 46) and now just had to stop the last thing I enjoyed Bikram Yoga(stopped the weights, running and biking 4 years ago when pain got really bad). Now I can mostly just walk, blade, ride upright bike.
I'm hope you get this response as I'm curious as to if you did your surgery with Dr. Green and how it went. Where you using cadaver bone?
I live in Fort Lauderdale...
