ADHD and Vyvansse 50 mg daily how fast does your tolerance build?

Okay so I am 27 years old about 135 lbs. and a mom of 3. I was diagnosed with severe ADHD in February of 2015. My physician started me off with 20 mg of Vyvansse and I loved it but it didn't last throughout the day at all. So over about 3 months she moved me steadily up to the 50 mg to where it lasted me through until bedtime. Vyvansse was a miracle drug for me! It really was I felt like myself for the first time in years I was my normal social energetic and fun loving self! Life in general didn't seem to overwhelm me anymore it was a challenge sure but I finally felt up to it! Everything was amazing! But now I have been on that particular dose for almost a year and a half now and over the last month to 6 weeks I have noticed my energy, drive, and focus in general take a nosedive. I don't feel the effects whether I take my medicine or not anymore. I can sleep for 12 hours a day and still feel so exhausted. I also have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and take a all natural thyroid supplement to assist with that. But I truly think my medicine isn't helping me anymore. I have been under a lot of stress as well and I feel so overwhelmed and anxious on a daily basis. I am surrounded by a million things I want and need to do but feel like I can't start anything. I am nervous about asking for an increase in dose and don't want to if I don't truly need it... But I feel the same way I did before I was diagnosed like there's something really wrong and I'm not my normal happy self. Any thoughts? Is this a normal time frame to build up a resistance ?

If the V has been working for you it would be unusual for it to all of a sudden stop.  And, if it was not as effective, it would not have lasted as long for you (as it did in the past).  Thus, I think that something else could be growing on.
I think I would deal with your thyroid issues first and or maybe your thyroid medication.
Other things that can effect you are lack of sleep at night.  Or, have you started any new medications in the last 5 or 6 weeks?
But, to answer your question.  No you normally do not build up a resistance to V that fast.   In fact, once the med is dialed - it should be good for quite a long time.  Unless, of course, something else is going on medically.
i hope this helps.  Let me know how this woks out. Best wishes!!
