My seven years old has ADHD.

Hi Dr.
I learned that ADHD is diagnosed in children whose mothers smoked during pregnancy. I never smoked before or even during pregnancy; however, I was exposed to the second hand smoking. Could this cause ADHD? Thanks.

I never heard anything so ridiculous in my life. And as to second-hand smoke, please note that insurance companies do not raise rates for clients exposed to second-hand smoke (and remember, they are not in the business of losing money).. They do raise rates for smokers.

Next we will hear that second-hand smoke is responsible for volcanic eruptions.

fme360,

Second hand smoke is probable. It's still under review .
