My hyperfocus as an example is writing (most adhd/add´ers have one, pc, writing, sports etc etc). I found that it developed positively. More structured, more precise, but at the same time many of my brilliant ideas regarding books/novels/etc would not appear in the same way. But when I think about it most of them were forgotten after 2 minutes if I didn´t write them down at once ;) Catch my point? So no, it will not disappear, it will be different. But the only one that can decide is you after trying......

Again good luck, and if you´re danish, be aware that you will find very good info about this on swedish, norwegian and danish resorts. Google, and you´ll find :)

Lykke til!

Thanks I appreciate your advice, but what do you mean not the way I think?, will my creative ideas become less ferequent something I will be able to switch on and off at appropriate times. For eg say I'm at work I should be working and not getting sidetracked through dreaming etc. But when I'm on my own sitting on a beach i can get my creative juices flowing as freely and as strong as they are now.

Probably, but not in the way you think. In fact most artists, actors and other people in creative jobs/hobbies that I know of choose not to use adhd medications since they need their "crazyness" to fully express them selves. However, when your "creativity" dissapears you will gain concentration and structure, so others think this compensates for the loss.
Personally I think that most of the people that complain about their loss just can´t cope with the changes their mind and body go trough when starting on meds, I suspect that most of them gave up fast....

And even though not related I would like to give most of you "starters" a warning. If you experience heavy **** in the start of your medication period stop at once! You will have no filters to stop strong emotions. Where you had anger and frustration to cope with problems you have to learn coping with them in an "normal" way... Easy? Well, socalled "normals" have had a lifetime building up defences and reactions, "you" have had maybe days, weeks or months.

ADHD will never be resolved, I don´t know your age, but if you have been living in a certain way for 20, 30 or 40 years I can guarantee you that you´ll have quite a job coming. The meds will make you focused, calmer, controlled and also being able to plan what the future should be (if you´re like me you will be having trouble seeing past tomorrow ;) ). The meds will however not help on other issues, thats where you and your brain have to do the work, and believe me, its hard, certainly to fail more than once, and of course very giving when you realize you managed to control yourself in situations where you normally would get crazy!
As a curiosity I can tell you that it will resolve "coffee-thirst", nikotin hunger, and also cut down alcohol/drug consumption in most people having problems with these substances (talking about coke/MariJ and other "lighter" drugs).

Good luck.....:)
