global development delay

My daughter is 7 years old, and has been classed as globally delayed in her development.
She can not talk, except for a few words, then these are repeated alot, and no sentances are used, she jumps around and flaps her arms when exited, but seems to understand more than she speaks. she has been tested for hearing problems, and non exist. I find it hard to believe that this is just a development delay, as there has been no verbal progression since she was 3 years old, i have been told that her condition is not autism, im at my wits end, is there anything i can do ?
She walked, crawled and sat up at the suggested correct age

Wow, what can you do.  The main thing is to Love her!
The second thing is to try and get more information so you can help her.
She is obviously globally delayed - why, how, what does this mean - are all questions that you need answered.  At her age she should be in some type of a school setting that can deal with these problems.  You can't deal with this at home to the extent that she will need.

After she was statmented, it was agreed that she would try main stream school, but this did not show to be correct so has now started a special needs school to see if this can help, im sure she has ADHD as she as a very low attention span, i can even get past the 1st sentance in a book, without her turning the page, and she wont sit still for 1 minute, even at meal times, im due for another appointment in the new year with some people that the school as dealings with, hopefully this may shed some light, i suggested ADHD 2 years ago, but the so call specialist said it was too early to tell..

Thank you for your answer.  The special needs school does make sense.  She might have ADHD, but it sounds like there is more than just that going on.  Hopefully, your next appointment will shed some light on what is happening.  I would also follow up on Autism again.   Good Luck.
