money talks

i'm certain the government in uk are paying to "not" daignose adhd as they are belived to thinking that people are just after money ie: disability living alowance also it costs the NHS here alot of money in giving out medication as well sop many doctors that are payed by the government are tending to steer away from adhd and add and find other excuses as to why children are behaving the way they are such as bad parenting and other things, i find this very infuriating indeed as many children are desperate for help and can't help the way they act. My son was 80% better when he was put on meds but i had to go to a private specialist as the local state wasn't listening or taking notice whatsoever and it cost a fair bit but was worth every penny. My son is nopw 18 and decided not to take the medication but it is now his choice. I'm fighting a losing battle to get my 7 and half yr old daughter diagnosed so looks as tho i will have to go private once again.

yes i totaly agree, also docs and nurses and people like that encouradge us to cut out e- numbers and fizzy sugary drinks as they wreakon they make children who are hyper active worse. It has made absolutely no difference to my daughter she is just the same without.

Yes, it really is crazy.  If a child does have ADD or ADHD, getting the correct treatment now will save the government tons of money later on when the person does not have to be treated for drug addiction or can't get a decent job.

This may be your government's reaction to the over-diagnosis of the ailment here in the U.S. It does not stand to reason that one-tenth of our 10-year-old boys is suffering from this condition. But those are the stats. Often ADHD is confused with sleep apnea and high-sugar diets.
