Well, see when I switched from Concerta to Adderall, I just stopped the Concerta and went to taking the Adderall XR. After a few months the XR did not seem to work very long or throughout the day. So, in 2007, I went on Adderall short acting pill form which generic form is amphetamine salts or amphetamine mix tabs. With this pill, first of all, it is extremely inexpensive. I pay $30 for 180 tabs 20 mg each. I cut each in half and take each half 4 times a day a total of 40mg. Which is great, due to the fact that it is consistent throughout the day. I have been taking this for almost 2 1/2 years now. I was on 10 mg at first but after 6 months went to 20 mg 2x day. I haven't had any issues and am not used to it.
When you switch from Concerta to Adderall, there should not be any lapsed time in between. You will just take the adderall instead. Hope this has helped. This may not work for you but Vyvanse works great for my son as well.
well when you switched how long before you got used to it because i couldnt even go a week without going crazy when i didnt have my medication and everything was pissing me off and i felt out of wack, so seems like switching to a new medication would pretty much do the same thing for a while!? if you get what i mean
What might be happening is that your body is used to this specific med. You might need to tray a different med to help with the symptoms. The same thing happened to me and I switched to another med called adderall short acting form 10mg 4 times daily. I have had to change my meds at least 3 or 4 times since I started taking the ADHD meds. After 2-3 years your body sort of becomes immuned to the specific med. You should not take any more than 54 mg since that would be harmful to your body. You could try Vyvanse, which my son takes, and it works great for him and is consistent throughout the day. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, I am here.
