Is this ADHD?

My 5 year old daughter has a lot of symtoms of ADHD. She can never seem to remember what she did at daycare the same day I ask her about it. She doesn't finish her projects as fast (or at all) as the other kids. She's very easily distracted, loses things very easily and can't seem to find them even if it's right in front of her. She floats off in her own world when we are trying to speak to her (really only when we're scolding her). Doesn't pay attention. Doesn't like things that take a lot of mental effort. She is very smart and can have a conversation with us and uses these big words and knows what she's talking about. She remembers things that happened a year ago, if it was something that made her laugh or that we thought was funny at the time. I guess if I could sum it up, she seems to be lazy about the things in life that are not "fun", homework, cleaning, paying attention, getting things done in a timely matter. Is this something I should worry about?
Could this be ADHD or something else?

I am a teacher. This sounds to me like maybe she is a typical 5 yr old child. Some children work at different paces than others. She might just work slowly on her projects. As far as not remembering what she did at school, that is typical of almost every child ages 4 to 18. It is not that they don't remember, they just don't tell you. I think somewhere in a child's DNA is engrained that the answer to 'what did you do at school today?' is 'NOTHING" or 'I don't know'. She goes into her own little world especially when you are scolding her as a defense mechanism. I don't think you have a lot to worry about. Just keep an eye out for changes in the severity of it.

Perhaps she is simply a normal child ,dont leap to any other conclusion till you have researched the side effects of the stimulant Drugs used for ADHD, read the other Posts here and you may want to simply adjust the Parent/child interaction here.
