Hormonal changes or something more?

Hi everybody, I've been someone who's suffered from acne all throughout my teen years. My worst battle with acne was in early 2016, and just to give a little insight on that phase, my face was completely covered with all kinds of acne, from whiteheads to blackheads to cysts, and it was so painful that I couldn't sleep on my sides comfortably. Luckily it cleared up on it's own, and at 18 years old now I'm happy to say that I'm almost acne free :)  (my face is relatively clear until my period rolls around and then it's just a few pimples here and there, nothing like that horrid breakout I had last year).

Anyways, I went to my doctor multiple times in a desperate attempt to find a pill or medication that could clear my acne, and was even considering Accutane during that bout of acne last year (doc said no because I was on antidepressants at the time). I've tried everything from clindamycin to minocyclin to tretinoin to bactrim (which gave me a rash and high fever, turns out I'm allergic to it) to birth control pills... to no avail.

And although my acne is nowhere near as bad as it was in my teens, I included this backstory because I'm facing something that I've never experienced before.. it's kind of freaking me out and I'm not sure if it's something that I should be worried about considering my history with acne. Okay so this month, the days leading up to my period specifically, I had a pretty bad breakout along my jawline (I usually never break out in that area aside from that one time last year). Along with that, my sister one day pointed out that I was growing chin hair (just realized i didnt explicitly state that im female lol so there's that)! And it wasn't like peach fuzz, it was a few coarse strands of black hair, I'm guesstimating here and believe they were around a centimeter long. I promptly plucked them out, but later in the shower I noticed that the same type of hair is growing around my nipples too (normally have super fine black strands of hair in that area).

So my question is, what could possibly be causing these issues, and is it something I should be worried about? I haven't stopped or started any new medication so I don't know whether I should just chalk this up to a regular pms thing or if it's something more. Again I've never experienced the weird hair growth or jawline acne before so I'm just curious.
