blood in mucus when blowing nose

for the past 5 days i have the cold but its been 3 days now i have been seeing blood streaks in the mucus when i blow y nose. but now the blood presence in the mucus is increasing. i am o antibiotics already. can you help me???

Hello! We should join each other , I have had a cold that started on saturday and I'am still
fighting it. The noise bleed you have when you blow your noise Is common. Nothing to worry about,It's a normal thing that happens when you have irritated your noise from blowing it so much. I hope that helps you some what.

I am not a doctor but if ever you find blood whether it's in your mucus, sick, urine or poo, always contact your doctor or ring 101 or in serious case dial 999 do not hesitate it's better to find out why it's happening then not and later someone could find you dead so out contact them be clear it's nothing bad

I only blower my nose once and I saw a blood streak in my mucus but I also have a throat infection and vertigo

scaredmom is most likely right- just irritated nasal passages, or maybe the air in your house is really dry? I know I get minor nosebleeds in the dead of winter after breathing in super dry cold air all winter long.  If however the blood is coming up from your lungs when you cough that might be a different story, but that too can be benign and be caused from busting a vessel or too from hard/prolonged coughing. Hope you feel better soon! (if it persists or gets even worse, Id go back to the Dr though)

I am not a dr or in the medical field, but would say because you have a cold and have been blowing your nose alot, it is nothing to panic about, I think the lining in your nose is just irated and will heal when your cold is gone.   I too have had a cold for about a week that turned into a migraine and now I have a cough like a 70 year old man that smoked non filter cigerattes for life.  trying taking something for your cold that will dry up your nose and it will probably get better. take care and keep me informed.
