I'm Alive!!!

Yes, I seem to be surviving my whole experience nicely. Although I'm wondering how my gall bladder is doing?!?! It must be VERY sad, all alone there at the hospital with none of my other organs to keep it company.

Perhaps I should give it a call...? Or is that not appropriate?  A clean break is probably best. Break ups are messy enough as it is, without confusing the issue.

ANYway...there is a point to all this (I think).

I'm taking Cipro, the antibiotic. It says it can make you drowsy which I've never heard of in an antibiotic. And...it does. It also makes my eyes dry and itchy which makes looking at things a bit of a pain. I don't suppose anyone else out thre has had a problem like this with cipro?

Sadie my dog was on Cipro.  She didn't complain much. It might help if your wife makes you sit and gives you a biscuit right after. lol

So glad your doing better !

heck - your gall bladder probably didnt like you anyway.....interesting story about my choleostectomy (?) being in the middle of a 40 year habit of one type or the other I wasnt thinking straight ....the Docs did their thing and then started to explain PCA morphine pump when I told them I knew all about it. Didnt factor the tolerance angle into the equation. If I had a nickle for every nurse that stopped by and explained that I could get pain relief if I just pushed the little button....I would have at least a nickle...so I had the procedure with virtually no anasthesia at all. Got zapped for an outpatient procedure one time....high tolerance to meds...procedure went well and I was in recovery with my wife. They told her it would be 20-30 minutes before regaining consciousness...as soon as they left the recovery area my wife got bottle of tylenol out of purse and shook it around. I was instantly awake. You dont always have to even take the pills for them to work!

If one were to look at almost any drug in a PDR or Drug Guide, they just about all list that as a potential side effect, not to mention that most drugs, often have a side effect listed that is the direct opposite of what the drug is trying to fix...and SO many more.  The thing is, that you do not get to see a list with numbers of people who've actually developed the side effects as opposed to those on a placebo if you are just seeing drug info on a pharm sheet.  The drug company has to list all things that occur while someone's on a med, whether or not the symptom even occurred from the med in the first place.  Another thing almost all drugs share in common as a potential side effect, are nausea/vomiting.  A nurse's drug guide is one of the best tools to know what to expect, because the COMMON side effects are underlined out of the list, and the life threatening ones are capped and often bolded too.

Glad to hear you're ok Savas....welcome back.
