My hubby's found reading a great way to turn off his 'video head' while withdrawing off methadone. He's just finished Anthony Kiedis' (lead singer of Red Hot Chilli Peppers) book called "Scar Tissue".
A searingly honest memoir of his life and addiction...
My hubby says it's truely inspired him and would recommend it to all of you embarking on the journey to recovery.

"Pill Head" by Joshua Lyon (Lyons?) is FANTASTIC!

The NA Basic Text can be read over and over and you can still get something new out of it every time.

I really want to read "America Anonymous", but B&N doesn't have it in stock.

I could go on and on...I need a meeting now, lol.

Brilliant! I'll look these up. I want to start reading them too... I'm finding out so much about the world of addiction through this site. Just wished I'd found it earlier on!

another good read dealing with addiction/it is a novel called.."A million little pieces"  I think there is a sequal to it as well///both were good...the NA book/u can order it online or pick it up at a meeting for $12 is also a good read for him right now
