I have always heard things about Jury Duty........if you don't show up they can put you in jail.......bla bla.......Does anyone know what the real deal is if you don't show?..........is it really a big deal?

Well, not sure where you are, but in most places they can issue a warrent if you do not show up for jury duty.  Tell them you are dating or married to a law enforement officer, and they are going to exclude you.  No defense atty wants someone like that on their jury!  ; )

Can you say 'Bench Warrant'? Call the number on your paper and tell them you forgot and ask to have it post poned. You're in the system now...hopefully if you call they will take you out...the warrant i mean...aaaannnddd....i was married to a cop and it only sometimes works...depends on what the case is about.....however....it works more times than not.....just call them and plea 'dumb' and they will understand...you're not the only one...if you can believe it....

I agree - call them and tell them you forgot about it and that you are sorry and see if they can postpone it to another time.  Typically they won't go out looking for you to arrest you, but if you are stopped for a traffic violation or something, then they will find the arrest warrant.  Anyway, calling them is the best policy.

In Indiana they didnt sent the jury duty request registered mail so they didnt know if you really got them or not. so I always ignored them and nothing happened..now if you got it registered mail and had to sign for it, there could be trouble...you might want to call them like others have said...good luck, we can't have our nauty in jail,

I just plain forgot.........I've had a lot going on and was suppose to get out of it.....which i always do.......but, I didn't even do that this time..........hmmm  a freaking Arrest Warrant !!!  like we don't have enough to worry about....geez..  I guess I best call them, i am good at playing stupid in real life.....;-))

Hi There ! Being a person who has been on seven juries I can tell you that in California they don`t mess around ! The court will find you in contempt and fine and/or put you in jail a few days . Better to ask to postpone your jury service then try and tell the judge you never received your summons .. Take care jimmy
