uhmm...
Substance Abuse Community...
"social forum"......anything goes here...this is the side to get away from the same ol stuff on the other side
to answer the question yes its illegal, not in every case but over all just assume it is so you are safe, also real good way to get a virus
not if you run linux, hehe.......
Oh..sorry..I thought i was in Abuse section when i wrote that.
There's a few sites where you can watch stuff for free that are good, like crackle and hulu (legal, too!!!)
I actually have never partaken in the whole illegal download thing... but this recent change in how movie players work has made me so angry that I'm contemplating doing it.
It is clear that many of the new "Security features" are designed to prevent access to copyrighted material that's being used wrongly.
However, they obviously rushed this stuff out and as a result many people are finding that the players are flawed and blocking casual, legal viewing.
If they're going to force programs that restrict access to legitimate program viewing on us because they could care less how it affects us, I don't see why I should respect their demand that we don't access copyrighted material.
Karma, it comes around eventually.
I did do this about a year ago. The movie quality is not that great and my computer got all kinds of viruses that took hours to remove. I would recommend just renting. It's not worth the time or the headache. And yes, it is illegal.
you can get excellent movie quality, and i've seen movies that are just out in theaters for free alot, and like i said if you run one of the many distros of linux op. you will NEVER get a virus , linux will not run a windoze executable. It just takes some knowledge.......
if you are using vista there is to much DRM (digital rights management) built in to be useful.
i use netflix, but you have to pay for membership, the illeagle downloads suck, not even worth watching, some of them are just some idiot with a recorder in the movie theater, yeah that bad
first of all its only illeagle if you upload copyrighted material, not download , you can download any copyrighted file , you just cannot distribute (or "seed" "upload")ppl without alot of computer knowledge use the torrent sites that require seeding as part of the downloading process, well there is a much better way (utilizing usnet ,binary files, compiler)and you only download so it is not illeagle. and the movie quality is excellent! and free!
years ago I used windoze on a torrent site to download a new release movie, a couple of days later got a email from ISP that they would shut my internet off if I downloaded anymore copyrighted material, did some research & found out the big cable providers (like I had) send out thousands of those letters a day, not many get turned off.
alot of geeky stuff like this is much easier using a shell & command line, windows operating systems are very limited so i am not surprised at poor performance like in goats situation.
