Nightmare on Elm Street

Okay one more thing i need from everyone and please please please if u know this answer, help me!!!!! Alright whoever is out there remember i posted about that bad dream i had yesterday? Okay i decided that when i take a quick 2 hour nap that is when the same dream happens and i decided to take some advice from alot of people and one expert told me that all dreams means something. Well when i went down for that quick nap just a little while ago.......i decided to see if i could get more facts and see if i could force myself to to change the dream or wake up when something bad was about to happen!!! Alright now, this is where it gets wierd. I never seen Nightmare on Elm Street but guess who is in my dreams that slice and stabbing me with the knife? You got it>>>>>(Freddy). So my question is someone tell me about that movie. How did the people get out of that dream and wake up? Please tell about this movie because im in that movie everytime i take a nap and its horrible. Please dont think im crazy but its true. So whoever can tell me about this movie and advice to wake up would be awesome. Why this movie? When i was in the dream i knew it was a dream and i told him was he was hurting me this was only a dream and i still couldnt wake up, What does anyone make of this? Until you reply....................FREAKED OUT AND CONFUSED!!!!!

lol crazy native. Well, I am another Native, but not necessarily crazy. Yes, some Natives believe dreams are indicative of the inner desires or intuition of the dreamer. However, others claim they are just that -- dreams. For example, dreaming of a loved one dying is interpreted as them being loved so much that we fear losing them. If the dream creates extensive anxiety, gyver, perhaps you should consider hanging a dreamcatcher above your bed. The purpose, according to some, is that it catches all "bad" dreams in its web of sinew, and allows only the good to flow through. Some believe that the bead in the middle moves around when it catches a bad dream. I heard in a song that a dream is just a wish that a heart makes, so your bad dreams can be interpreted in many many many MANY different ways. It is entirely up to you how you choose to proceed, do you see danger in them and allow that to control your mood? Or do you decide your mood, thereby taking control of your life?

Greeting Wolf.. I have never dreamed of someone and they called the next day LOL This was the only time This happened to me.. I did want to listen but I had to work.. Took my chances.. or I can look at it as It sparked a intuition I did nor recognize when I closed the clasps.. I do believe dreams can help with the past and today if we looked for the deeper meaning...

gm.. that is a trip.. I would love to see this picture.. I hope you can find it.. I also find a lot of joy in my insanity LOL

hi. i just came across this thread--i had to see what the title referenced. strangely enough, i came across an image on an avatar recently that was something right out of a nightmare i had a while back. i've been trying to trace the source of the image but so far no luck. of course this is all easily explainable, as i must have seen the same thing at some point prior to the dream for it to manifest there, and just don't remember it. what is really odd is that when i awoke the day after this dream, it was still vivid in my mind and i made an attempt to sketch whatever this thing was. and i remember thinking to myself things like "what the he11 was that----i'd never seen anything like it before." i'm used to having nightmares but this was different. i'm looking for that drawing now. so until then i will try to enjoy my insanity. take care,   gm

Maybe that dream did save teko's life.  Sometimes a dream is just that - a dream.  Do your prophetic dreams have a different quality from ordinary dreams?  Have you ever dreamed about someone and the next day they phone?

Getting off topic here - sorry.

Hello. Greeting Wolf...  I believe all dreams mean something that are repetitive.. They could predict the future as I think tekos was.. I had a similar experience that I was in my husbands barracuda and I was coming over the bridge and I was always pressing on the gas as hard as I could too out run something.. this happened a few times and then 3 times in my Fiat well one morning on the way to work.. I was squeezed against the rail by a winnibago and was stepping on the gas as hard as I could.. He hit my drivers door with his fender side and pulled me around to the front of him and continued to hit my drivers side a few more times.. my car slid out and slammed against the other side of the wall on my drivers side..that flipped me over and I spun like a top half way down the bridge.. I almost took of my roof that morning but I was late for work.. I did unclasp the latches.. but shut them again.. When I was done spinning I had big holes in the roof that the asphalt had chewed up...This saved my life..
I think the freddie dream represent drugs/addiction and the fight to get off them.. If we listen they will tell us a lot.. lesa

Teko - we (Natives) don't usually go in for the symbolism that Freud and Jung did when it came to dreams.  Mostly, we went by how we felt when we woke up; if we had the same dream repeatedly or if it continued like a mini-series we would go to an elder and he/she would help us find the "meaning" of the dream.  For most of us, it wasn't anything "big"; we just needed help figuring it out.  For some, however, dreams foretold the future but that was/is very, very rare and in some cases the dreamer used peyote.  IMHO, you should go out and buy another red mustang and run over Freddie  lol  Let your shih tzu chew on his red and green sweater.  A good shih tzu will give some folks nightmares  = )

I'd rather dream about Tom Cruise ....

I used to dream all the time that I was in a red car! I hit another car, we collided and I remember having a sensation of falling. I saw my own funeral, I was looking down on it. Years go by and I forgot about the dream, bought a red mustang convertible. I loved that stupid car! Well, I started having them there dreams again, so I traded the damn car in and have missed it ever since. Lonewolf, help me here. Did I thwart my own death or did I act stupid and get rid of the only car I ever loved for nothing? I have always wondered about it. But to dream about Freddie? EW! scarey!

People in our dreams often do not represent the character they represent in our waking world.  The more important question is not what happened to Freddie in the movie, but what Freddie represents to you.  Prior to knowing about Nightmare on Elmstreet from the posts above, what did you know about Freddie?  When you think of him, what images come to mind?

I was involved in some dream research a few years ago in which vivid dreams were often linked to the waking days events or thoughts the night before.  I would ask you to think about the Freddie of your dreams and see if there were any thoughts you had before bed that reminded you of someone of similar character?  Maybe Freddie represents something within you that you have somehow labeled evil.  Maybe he represents someone else who is threatening you.

I'm anxious to hear your response.

According to Native traditions about dreams, if a person has a repetetive dream or a continuing dream, it means something.  Your "Elm Street" analogy is just that - an analogy - picked up from pop culture.  If it helps, Jason (Friday 12th) "beat" Freddie.  Your dream means something, a lot different from Freddie and Jason.  Just another raving from the demented mind of a crazy Native.

1. Drink lots of coffee and don't sleep ( lol )
2 At first when one would go into a sleping state they had a watcher to wake them up if they started to dream.
.3. They made a plan as to how to bring Freddy out.
Have you seen the new previews of Freddy lately?
4. Freddy could be a manifastation of some area  of your life where there is discord with another person and feeling powerless to do anything. You may be harboring feelings of anger that people are not noticing how afraid you are.
5. That will be 125.00 cash or check.........LOL...Best wishes
