Old Man Winter

For those of you that have to endure winter, i am sure you can relate to this. It is middle of winter here right now and a winter to remember. We have about 3 feet of snow, more than i can remember ever having. Some of the banks from snowplows are 6-7 ft high and pulling out of your driveway can be a task when you can't see anything. I just slowly inch my way out until i stop all traffic and hope somebody see's me, lol. It takes 10 minutes to warm up my truck and by the time i scrape windows and brush snow, my nostrils are frozen together, my ears feel like they are gonna fall off cause they are so cold and i have significant shrinkage, (still not small though) lmfao. Driving in winter can be a task at hand and even though my truck is 4x4 it can still be a nightmare. Between dodging snow plows and fighting road rage cause an 80 year old women is driving 20 kms in a 60 zone and taking up 2 lanes can be frustrating. It's a great time of year here for tow truck and auto businesses because i pass cars in ditchs every single day, usually not serious accidents, just someone pushed off the road by that 80 year old blind women.

Now the fun part-my winter job. i don't work much in the winter with our business, snow removal when it snow's and roof's, part of my job i hate. Try getting up at 4am and go out into a blizzard. I get all bundled up with only a small hole left open for my mouth and out the door i go bitchy as hell.  I just want to tell them to do their own fing driveways, ha. The other morning on my first driveway i hit a newpaper and it got stuck in the auger shutting the snowblower down. There i am in pitch black, on my stomach digging the newpaper out of auger, cut my finger and pissed off. Finally i got the newpaper out in pieces and set it nicely on their doorstep muttering to myself " hope you choke on your coffee this morning jerk, lmfao. ok now only about 60 more driveways to do. ugggg.

You have to be tough to live in this type of weather and thank God it only lasts a couple months cause i would be living in florida by now. It has been one of the coldest, snowiest winters i ever remember and my as s is whiter than ever. It seems like even a lot of states are getting hit this year also. I am as south canada as you can get, south of some of your states so i know ya'll must have to deal with this too. We only have another month of solid winter here so lets stay warm. WINTER *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week we are getting a lot of snow so i have to be back up at 4am. It's not too bad right now for temperatures around 26 degrees, well that is horrible, but better that those single digits we had for awhile.

We have had the coldest winter. It started in Nov. And will last til Feb. With little snow, So far this year we've had 5 inches. Our winter usually consist of Jan-Feb.being the coldest. The electric bill for Dec. was 180.00 That doesn't usually happen until Jan. It would not be unusual to have several 50 degree days through the winter.......So what am I complaining about We don't have 2 feet of snow and I't not 10 degrees. But it's all in what you get use too.

I'm in Southern NH...we have about 2+ feet of snow on the ground and piles several feet high from all the plowing...and a trail dug  in the backyard to a latrine for the dog...this is the most snow I recall us getting in a while, and the coldest it's been in a long time.  I've had my mishaps...slipped on ice in the driveway a couple times (I've got a bad back to begin with) had my non working snowthrower come sliding down a ramp I was trying to load it on and knock me on my back, busting 2 pinkies...the place fixing our snow blower called and told us how much it would cost...we said "fixit"..in the meantime I'm paying a guy to plow us each storm, and he got stuck in the driveway...I'm hoping to get the snow thrower back this week...though I'm going to let my stepson deal with it...and we have another potentially BIG storm coming Wednesday...

I'm moving south...I can't take it anymore.

Jim

Around here, they push the literacy fund, but the cashiers ALWAYS ask if you want to make a donation to "illiteracy"...no thanks, enough of that already...BTW, I'll bet you don't look any more destitute than I do...I just throw on whatever is handy, usually one of my hub's old jackets...

i got so sidetracked on my original response i forgot to relate my own winter whine that was just from today. I went to the store this morning for coffee creamer (Ive been up since 3 a.m. and had already drank almost 3 pots of coffee by 8 a.m. LOL) . anyhow, I was tired, grumpy , freezing and didnt feel like going but had to. So I bundled up in all my most hideous warm gear, didnt do my hair or make up.  So i pretty much looked like a complete Bag Lady.  When i went to check out, the cashier asks me if i wanted to donate to the Food Pantry for the Poor today? I actually laughed out loud and said are you serious lady?? look at me would-ja. I need to go to the food pantry myself for god sakes. In fact Im gonna raid your dumpster behind teh building when i leave here too for good measure, LOL  crimey sakes people

LOL  The pool is huge, probably bigger than the house.   My one sister wants to have half of it filled in. She hates it. So there might be shrinkage in the pool. lol
You will probably have shrinkage just looking at the pool.  It hasn't been cleaned in a year and is totally gross.(and I bet it's cold too) LMAO
