Suboxone Withdrawls,less than 1mg

my husband and i both are working to get off the suboxone. We both got on Suboxone at about the same time to treat methadone problem, and we stayed on suboxone for about 3-4 months. I tapered off a little better than he did. Today is day 12, have been using Ambien to sleep and benzo's during day if needed to help with cramps. What I find odd is that for my husband all he wants to do is sleep all the time and says he doesn't have terrible muscle cramps but some very serious depression and also he was on Methadone for 15 years. I was on methadone for 4 years and my withdrawls started as hot/cold sweats but those are gone, Lathargic feeling and muscle twitching/itching. Oh and I can't sleep, I went from a person that could sleep 10 hours every day to maybe 4 hours a night. Any ideas why our withdrawls are so completely different. I don't understand. I know when we went off methadone cold turkey boy howdy the withdrawls were bad and at that time the withdrawls for both of us were the same. Any ideas why this is different.
THanks.

There is a vast majority of symptoms, side effects and withdrawals when it comes to sub. Some people say they have no wds whatsoever when they come off. Other people, like myself, have suffered rotten ones. The experience range from both ends of the spectrum. This medication is tricky and everyones body reacts differently. It's all about neurological function and how damaged your brain receptors really are, the flow of naturally produced chemicals, etc. It's really difficult to pinpoint a specific reason why but that's basically the gist of it. You're absolutely right people go at their own pace - just life. Next time he asks what your problem is go ahead and tell him!! lol Personally I don't think anyone can detox off of opiates gracefully... hard to balance that tiara while you're bent over the toilet with sweat running down your face. Women also tend to detox a bit harder as well... lucky us. Must have something to do with hormones? I don't know why really, but it is what it is and all you can do is accept it and move on right? There's tons of support here - the substance abuse side (link at top of screen) tends to have more frequent traffic if you want to post over there as well you may get more responses.

This is not my first attempt on getting off the drugs.  The first time I tried to get off pain pills I tried using marijuana. I can't stand the stuff but it did seem to ease the withdrawls and well I relapsed. This time using suboxone I would say that the withdrawls for me are similiar but nothing near like going cold turkey off methadone. I am on day 13 and don't feel to bad, I have been on an anti-depressant for about a week and am considering going off of it, and other than sleepless nights I am doing pretty good. It is a struggle at work because you have cravings so I try to stay active. It just seemed so odd that when we both went cold turkey off of methadone the w/d were exactly the same, now they are different. I just thought someone might have some ideas. It is hard because he feels pretty good and then looks at me and says "whats your problem" wondering why I don't feel like he does, I mean his addiction was signifcantly longer than mine. Shouldn't I recover sooner, or should I. I think go at your own pace. I guess I don't think I should have to look and act like a princess while I am detoxing off of an opiate. I have no desire to go back to taking any pills, none at all. Maybe just looking for some support.

So you both tapered to 1mg of sub then stopped, and you can't sleep and he can and he isn't having any other symptoms other then depression? Did you go through massive w.d when you stopped the sub?

I detoxed with my sister a few times and our symptoms were very different also. She could sleep, I couldn't. She had depression , I didn't.  The important thing is your both getting clean. Hang in there.
