World Series

I know that everyone is probably sick of seeing me write about baseball..But the Philadelphia Phillies, my home town team, have won the 2008 World Series..and it is just crazy here in Philadelphia. I live in South Philly, so it is just pure pandamonium...1000's of people and I mean 1000's, flooded the streets as soon as they won and its been madness ever since. They deserved it and I am so happy to be a part of this city. Its so cool...In the entire Philadelphia Phillies franchise history, 126years, they have now only won the world series twice, once in 1980 and 2008. So its pretty crazy here and the parade is tomorrow...can't wait...GO PHILLS............

not to take anything from philly, and by the way they looked very good in the entire post season, but when the cubs win the world series, i really think that the national gaurd is going to have to be called in. i am not kidding when i say that either.

btw i am a white sox fan.

WOOHOO!!!!  I'm so excited that the Phillies won!!!  I'm from that area and used to go to the Phllies games all the time.  My mother (being single) would pack a lunch and bring a jug of koolaid and we'd sit in the nosebleed section and watch.  This was during the 70s and the early 80s.  We had a blast!   I'll never forget when the Phillies won in 1980!!  That was amazing too!!!

It is just sooooo cooooollll...This city hasn't seen a championship since the 76ers beat the lakers in 83. And the phillies last won the world series in 80'. So this city was due for a win, and to have it be the phillies is just so unexpected and unreal. This city is crazy right now. Schools are closing for the parade tomorrow. I am leaving work at 12 for the parade. Its so cool. And to be able to say I went and have my ticket, thats just so unreal..

Congratulations to you and your team!  My Tigers didn't even make the play-offs this year, but it is so exciting when your team wins something so big like that.  I've been downtown Detroit on two different occassions when the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup and it was just awesome!!!!  The parades are so great, have fun!!
