alcohol prob?
Hello all i have been on here awhile worried over hiv which i tested neg at 6 weeks and now have a prob with alcohol or so it may seem .Idrink every evening to calm my nerves and am afraid since i have done this on and off for 5 years that i may have underlying issues such as liver.The thing is i can stop for weeks and then gradually go back to the same routine..Any advice??
You are right when it comes to your children ,me a mother of four and dony get me wrong i dont drink until they are in bed and i dont get drunk . The thing is i can stop when i want i just know over time i may not be able to. I appreciate your kind words and advice and plan to be here for support
I dont know you but from what you wrote down it seems you worry about things that could happen but have not yet and you drink to numb the fear of the unknown. You will drive yourself crazy if you worry about things you can not control or things that might happen. If you worry about HIV because you were with someone. than early detection is the best. If you worry about liver damage, a simply blood test can tell you if there is a problem. It could be you are mixing your meds with alcohol that is affecting your nerves, so try to layoff the alcohol for a month or so and see if you feel better. Whenever i get down on myself i think of my four children and picture my little girl face and it melts my heart and brings me back to earth and what i need to focus on. I know the kids can drive you crazy and i am not with them like their mother is but at least thats not a reason to drink or use. It's good you came here to talk about it and i hope you can find the answers you are looking for.
I really dont know i was married for 10 years with a really bad divorce and had an affair with my x and have been worried over hiv which i tested neg at 6 weeks and am scared to test again . I have 4 children , 3 girls from x and 1 boy from current husband.Iam currently on citalopram (antdepressant) for GAD and OCD.It seems the alcohol at night helps more than the pill and also im on blood pressure medication .Any advice;)
