febninthgirl's 21 yr old brother passed away early Monday morning  from a lethal dose of drugs and alcohol.  He had been on life support in a med induced coma.  This is the cold hard facts of this addiction. Please everyone look at yourself, get honest and make a plan to get clean and stay clean.  This can happen to anyone of us.  Lets gather around her and support her in this time........my thoughts and prayers are with you febgirl.......sara

I am so sorry to hear of you and your families loss. Let all of us that are still abusing and the ones fighting to stay clean make this a wake up call. we all hear the stories of how drugs ruin lives and how bad the wd's are but seldom do we hear the stories of death. hey girl....wow im so sorry to hear about your brother ...I know you did everything you could do to help him...sometimes our best efforts our in vein....I know it dosent mater to you now but I do  know your situation and threre was absolutely nothing you could have done differently or better to avoid this you where a great sister to him and this is not your fault.....it is just one of the saddest consequences of addiction...my heart goes out to you and your family ...I will pray that god gives you the strength to get thew this

I am so very sorry to hear this. That could easily be me that you are posting about.  I fully well know how much it hurts.........but this is one that you have to experience. Let your feelings guide you and know that evryone grives differently and for different amounts of time.

I just talked to her and she is taking it very hard. She hasn't been able to get on here lately so I'll be sure to pass all of the support to her when I talk to her next. I am so thankful for this forum. We are like one big caring family. Thank you all so much!

Like Sarah said, this should be a big eye opener to everyone. I also know because my older sis passed away almost 4 years ago from alcohol and pill abuse. She was almost 31. The coroner said her blood alcohol was .011 and she just had a trace of vicodin. This just goes to show that she didn't overdose, it was from long term abuse that probably caused her death. This just shows how much damage is done to our bodies over time.
I didn't mean to hijack this post as it was meant for feb. I just want everyone to be aware of how serious abuse can be. It is so not worth the risk. I saw what it did to my parents and family and no parent should have to bury their child. Life is so precious and anything can happen at any time. I pray that everyone realizes this so we can all live a happy and long life.
