OMG....I know that had to be hard to write....I will just say i am sorry and leave it at that too......

I remembered you were on sub...I think you can help some here trying to get off....I agree with the slowing down on lungs,,, and other things for sure.. My husband use to say that when i slept , it sounded like I was not going to take my next breath...I was in active addiction( at my worst), and it scared me but i wasn't ready i guess....Now, he says i just snore s/p?    anyway, really glad you are back....And on the 4th of july at that!!!
God bless your son and others serving our country!!

Also the chantix gives you wicked dreams. The answer to your question, No I did not end up staying clean. Got off the suboxone after many months on it with no trouble, just
weaned off it, and maybe six months found myself getting caught back up in it. Not
severely, cause my 24 yr daughter still lives at home and keep a close eye on me. Nope, there I go minimizing things, the prednisone makes ur bones more brittle and I fractured my tailbone over doing things and Doc. gave me something I never had before.
The oxycodone 15's, and I believe my daughter found me knoding, perhaps drooling at my computer. I lied. It just wasn't the extent as last time. But when ur an addict, and that is what I am, it doesn't matter how much or little you do. After we have a good amount of time using, and making a meal of pills or till their gone, when you've been clean for years, relapse, God help us if we go back there for a long time again.
I did relapse, but for a few months. Like I said It slows down body functions, like lungs. I know I am babbling, but one quick little story. Dec 13th I found my best friend
dead at her apt. She overdosed of perscript meds. I knew what she was up to and called another friend of her's a decent girl and together we interviened, had her put in detox 19 days till they could find a womens program for her and funding thats why they kept her for so long. She finagled her way out. I quit talking to her for a week cause I got sick of her negitivity, and Curt was coming home for the holiday dec 12th
to be exact, I can't stay mad at friends for long, made up with her she came over a few days that week in Dec. Fri. Curt came home. I tried Calling my friend Muary no answer and I had a bad feeling, so that Sat morning I went to her place, her car was there but no answer. My 55 yr old big butt climbed thru the window cus they slid open took out the screen and found her laid out on the floor in a puddle of blood. So
I'm kinda a different person today. It impacted me in so many ways, I actually had to go to talk w/a profecional after that.  I'm going to stop talking about that now. But I've been thru some stuff since i've been here last. thx for  listening.

I tried the chantix, which was really expensive, and it did make me not want to smoke at all...But it made me so nauseated, that i could not take it anymore, and i really tried...I have heard that it has helped some with detoxing from opiates too..

I do remember when you went to see your son...Have you been clean since then?  that was a long time ago, or did you go twice?
I would be so darn proud too, if i were you...I love men in Navy uniforms...YOU deserve to Be PROUD!!!
Good to have you back, I am sure you can help alot of people on here...And by far I beleive no one is angels..I am not proud of my past with using , but moving on.....hugs

The chantex made the ciggs taste yuck. I'm no angel hon, i still bum on at least three times a week. Yup you remember me. With the Son in the Navy...The kid is excelling.
He's moving on up. He's an E4. That means 4 promotions and raises in the last 2 yrs since he joined. He moves off base/barracks from Norfolk to Va. Beach with his Navy girl friend and another couple. Prob so they can party away from the ship. Yep when I quit using before there was enuf money$ to go get myself a plane ticket , fly to Norfolk and see him when he came back from sea. 3-5 dollars for a pill, and money for pot sure added up. I must have saved up about 900 bucks in no time (a couple months) and went to see him. I am a proud Mom. ;)

You were a couple of the ones I was referring to. Road I never smoked before the pain meds. First the opiates, then the ciggs, at least for me. They gave me that euphoria
that a cigg between my fingers and puffing on it tasted good. Ten years or maybe 20
(we don't want to go into my age) I finally had to admit I had developed an addiction
to nicotine also. I think smoking weed all those years, and ciggs has contributated
to my todays condition. I've been in the hosp. for a few days a pop at least 5 times in
the last couple years. Just turned 55 and my name is Cathy, hubby helped me get on
here and used his nick name a few years ago. Honest, I have nothing to hide from you guys. I wasn't as good on the computer as I have become. Practice makes perfect.
Just can't spell for s---. Can I say that? Anyways the med I am really struggling with is prednisone. I've been on this steriod since November. But this is a narcotics site so I won't go into that. The side effects are yucky.  enought. So good to hear from you. You all rock here.     Me

It is so GOOD to see you!!!   I am so glad you stopped by...You are so right about those cigs...I swear i must of smoked twice or three times as much when using?  I wonder why it makes us smoke more??
I am sorry to hear about your asthma, and congrats on stopping smoking...Although i don't smoke near as much, I still need to quit...I can feel my chest heavy, and coughing, no doubt from my past opiate abuse and smoking like a train..
Please stick around !!!
