prayers please

i just found out some sad and shocking news...my sister in law is on life support after going into cardiac arrest yesterday. Not sure of hte details yet but she has been a chronic 30+ year pain patient who has been on tons of narcotics all those years for various things (replacements of hips, knees, shoulders and multiple back surgeries) she currently was taking MS Contin and Percocet for breakthrough pain and Im wondering if she accidentally OD'd on them. She was fine and had actually just called me the day before and emailed me too. this was totally out of the blue. I sure hope she pulls through but it doesnt sound good at this point. I just cant believe it...we have always been close, like sisters and she was there when my sons were born too...any prayers would be appreciated..

I know waht you are going through. It rips your heart out. I did it with my dad 1 year ago this month. keep praying. I talked to dad too. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

having just recently gone through this with my son, I know what you and your family are going through...there is no word for it...Thank God, my son was gone within 2 minutes of them pulling life support..

just another little update...they took her off the life support and apparently it can take days to die this way...its been many hours and she is still breathing, but they say she is not suffering, there is absolutely no brain activity.. so its just a matter of time. Its heartwrenching and horrible watching someone you love slowly die

I am so sorry trouble! What a tragic senseless thing to happen. My prayers are with you and the family! As you may remember, I lost a dil to drugs about a year ago so can understand the emotion you are feeling. Keep the faith and hang in! Hugs!

just another update..they declared her braindead from the prolonged loss of oxygen before resesutation...will be taking her off life support tomorrow after out of state relatives get here tonight and see her one last time.  god, i cant believe it...

So sorry for all of you, trouble.....at least Sunday is a fine day for prayers.  These events hit me pretty hard since I am just lucky / blessed that they were able to revive me in time.... so thin and delicate is the thread that holds us to this life......

thank you sho sho... i just got off the phone with her daughter.....it definitely does not look good, the doctors say she wont make it. she was actually already "dead" and the EMT's revived her at home but it probably was too long without oxygen by the time she was found by her husband. she has not regained consciousness and they dont expect her to make it through tonight. I am going to go up to the hospital as soon as someone can come over here to watch my kids.  and btw, her daughter said it WAS an overdose. she accidentally took too many pillls =(((  this makes it even harder for me to swallow. damn it.  I mean she wasnt a complete addict like myself and most of us here, althuogh she had her issues in the past. None of that matters now anyways..

I am so sorry to hear about your sister inlaw....I will certainly pray for her....I am a Christian and do believe in the power of prayer to heal.
