Hi Mark- You have me confused with the OP but that's okay...Listen, it's better for you if you begin your own thread; you'll get more responses. Just click on the "post a question" button and write it all down.

Just know the emotional feelings are normal. There are some things you can do to be more comfortable so begin a new thread and hang in there!

Mark...I stumbled across this forum and caught your post at the bottom luckily!! I went through withdrawals from tramadol abound 8 months ago. It was absolutely awful. I've withdrawn from lortab before as we'll and the tramadol is so much worse in my opinion. People may tell you it is non addicting but they are wrong. I honestly think it is the devils drug. With that being said...you can do it!!! It may be one of the hardest things you've done in your life but it is so worth it and it will stop. I know it feels like it will last forever but it won't. My advice to you is to find someone to talk to. If you are like me no one knew. I finally broke down and told my husband and he literally saved me. I was so ashamed of myself and embarrassed to tell him but so grateful I did. Try taking Benadryl to help you to calm down and sleep. The more rest you are able to get the better. Also, I've read that if you can go to a sauna at your local gym or just anywhere it helps you to sweat out the toxins and aid in speeding up the withdrawals. Good luck!! It looks like your in a great place for support.

RLS/leg pain I call it same thing. I am taking Magnesium everyday, eating bananas and doing salt baths but nothing helps. Yes, I am 34 weeks so usually the last month you only go once a week.

Glad you are feeling ok. Are you having leg pain or rls?
. Are you taking anything to help with the leg pain?
You are still going every 2 weeks to the Ob?
Sleeping at the end of a pregnancy isnt that  easy anyway.
Too big, uncomfortable and lots of pee trips. Lol.

Hey there, no I don't go to the OB until next Thursday. I am doing alright. I feel good during the days but nights are always hard because I can't fall asleep. My body is screaming at me to give it more Tramadol but I am sticking to my taper. I am on 3 pills today and it is hard but not that hard. I don't really have any fatigue. Just leg pains at night and am very emotional today.

I am feeling really good today. I just took my 3rd pill and was able to take a nap after work. I thought I would feel more w/d's with only having 3 pills today. Maybe I shouldn't jump ahead of myself.

Oh man it is scary that these dr are prescribing tramadol with little knowledge cause I can tell ya right now it definitely helped as an anti depressant and caused me to have seizures because I was already on an anti depressant. Scary.

But anyways I'm glad you are taking the tapering route with this and finding a new OB is imperative. For you and that miracle I would hate for something to happen. And you need a reliable OB. That makes me so mad that they aren't taking this seriously

yes it was. hun we have had many, many, many people come off tramadol on this forum. we know how difficult the the withdrawal is. so much more so when pregnant and especially since you are so far along.
we only told you what we told you because we wanted you and the baby to be safe.
doctors are so much in the dark about this drug.
I am glad you went to the ER and had the baby checked, that was a smart move.
I am glad you started the tramadol again. are you feeling ok with 4?

No Kylie- My comment was to Michael and I should have addressed him personally. The post I was remarking about is gone now...

Glad the baby is doing well! I'm sure that was comforting to you...Keep checking in about how you're feeling and I hope you have a sweet rest tonight...

what happened to the other 32 pills you had on sunday from your last taper before you tried to go cold turkey on sunday?

with those 32 and the new 35 that is enough for do a sufficient taper
for a few weeks.

Ok,

Michael- i appreciate ur concern but i will not relapse into that! I have only taken 4 today and was told to take 7 by the doc just to get normal. After going through last night i know what i need to do now. I wanted to and thought i could do CT but i couldn't. It was so extreme i thought i was going to have a heart attack.

As for the baby, she was fine. I did not mention this just because i didn't want to but i did go to the ER around 2 am. 2 docs saw me and knew i was in the process of full withdrawal, they monitored the baby for 4 hrs and she was completely fine. They did not give me more pills and sent me home to finish my pain. The point i am trying to make with that is these docs know that the baby would have been ok...they have seen it before in mothers. I was the one who then made the decision that i couldn't do it and had to taper... My baby was fine even when i felt like i was going to die.

ImDone,
I am NOT telling my husband so could everyone please stop asking me too.

I will do this taper and be done- u guys will see:)

20 pills a day for eight months. Saw a pain doctor who dropped her to 7 with a pill less per day taper...I've got my facts straight enough.  The whole point is the danger of cold turkey withdrawal in pregnancy. It's evidence based, not just my opinion.  And no, cold turkey withdrawal from 7 pills is not any better than 20.

The tone of your comments to me was mean spirited and I don't deserve that. Maybe you're tired or withdrawing yourself, I really don't know, but your attitude is uncalled for in any event...I suspect this thread will likely be closed now, as well...

Which is exactly why I think seeing a new OB and allowing him/her to work with your family Dr. during this critical time is so important.  Ask the Dr. to recommend someone.  You can do that over the phone, it can be as simple as that.

And I will say, it would help so much if your hubby was on board with all of this so he could help you with the tapering.  Why do you believe he wouldn't support you or understand?

Michael- Are you clear on what happens to the fetus during cold turkey withdrawal from Tramadol?   Getting this OP away from the pills is not as important as keeping this baby safe. I think that's where we're all coming from...Going cold turkey from a 20 pill a day habit during pregnancy is just wrong.  Very wrong AND dangerous. So thank goodness Kylie is no longer doing that...

Please I mentioned the amount of pills of 35 at that time a couple of hours ago you seem fine and fin with the taper. Can you see it's only been a couple of hrs and already you are beginning to freak about getting more pills. This is exactly why your doctors wanted you to go CT. Sorry I know I am in the minority here and I do wish you do taper if you can but you sound like you are going to relapse back into as much as you can. I hope I am wrong. But I was  a long time Tram user over 3 years and around 40 pills a day. I went CT on 40 pills a day it was not fun at all. But if you are only 6 or 7 pills a day as your 3 doctors told you the chance of seizure was so low they felt very comfortable with that than continue to use. I do not agree with what some of these posters are saying that the docs do not know what Trams are. I feel they very much know but what all 3 docs were more afraid of was a relapse to back to 20 pills a day and having your baby under those conditions. You need now to take a real honest look at what I just wrote and see if it's mostly BS or truth here. The other problem is you cannot take a real honest look when you are in a tramadol fog.

I do hope all the above of what I wrote is not correct for the sake of you and the baby but if it is you need to put those pills in someone else hands and let them give them to you strictly according to your taper.
Best
Michael
